An abdication of responsibility

When it came to the confirmation of Janet Yellen for Federal Reserve Chair, 56 Senators voted for her and 26 against. Where were the other 18? That is a disgusting display of gutless politics. Eighteen Senators who don't even have the backbone to take a stand.

What are they there for if not to serve their constituents by voting? I have not researched who the 18 are because I feel the same no matter which party or state they represent. The votes of those 18 wouldn't have changed the outcome but the American people have the right to expect moral and principled leadership not partisan politics. This and other votes where no position is taken, is an abdication of responsibility. By not taking a stand, then the stand can't be used against them. What weasels. What self-center, spineless excuses for American servants. They should all be sent home and the practice of saving ones own skin by not voting or voting "present" needs to be stopped.
