Lord Deben's evening lecture

An alien founding crusader without evidence

In Canberra for Wednesday's anti-carbon dioxide tax rally, I attended Lord Deben's evening lecture. M'Lord is said to have attended the birth of society's latest unfounded edition of climate fear—forecast supposed imminent, irreversible, catastrophic global warming due to carbon dioxide. Delightfully he praised economic development for reducing birth rates. Astoundingly, he ignored the crucial role of cheap, abundant, reliable, readily-accessible energy. It powers productivity that is the engine of economic development.

His stance on climate is undermined by his emissions and ignorance on energy. Of greater concern is the ignorance of Canberra bureaucrats and academics in the audience. They seemed unable to see that M'Lord failed to answer an audience request for real-world evidence for his global warming claims. In personal discussions with audience members I learned that some fail to understand that opinion is not real-world evidence. Yet their hands clasp our nation's throttle. Is it coincidence that Lord Deben is visiting during our 'Lord' Garnaut's series of carefully choreographed propaganda releases that contradict science? Neither have real-world evidence for their claims. Malcolm Roberts BE (Hons), MBA (Chicago) Fellow AICD, MAIM, MAusIMM, MAME (USA), MIMM (UK), Fellow ASQ (USA, Aust) PS. Lord Deben called carbon dioxide an alien gas. One wonders what sort of environment minister he was: Each year 97% of Earth's carbon dioxide production is by Nature, it is essential to all life on earth. It's part of every cell of every living organism. Alien? Is he extraterrestrial? What's the source of his funding?
