Baby Gabriel’s “Parents” Seen for First Time, Trash McKenna West in Court

The California couple who asked a surrogate to abort their unborn son appeared in public for the first time Tuesday and used a Dallas courtroom to accuse the woman who refused that abortion of trying to take the baby she carried to birth.

Nausheen Gilkar and Omar Ahmed, who call the newborn Rumi, sat across the courtroom from McKenna West, the 28-year-old Alaska cardiac nurse who calls the boy Gabriel.

Photographs of the couple were published as they arrived for the hearing. They left without speaking to reporters.

Gilkar broke down on the stand while attacking West, claiming she is mentally ill.

“He’s our child,” she said. “She’s trying to take him from us.” ---More...

McKenna West: They Would Have Shot Baby Gabriel in the Heart With Poison to Abort Him

The surrogate mom who refused to abort a baby boy with a treatable heart defect broke down in a Dallas courtroom Tuesday as she described the late-term abortion she said would have stopped his heart.

McKenna West, a 28-year-old cardiac nurse from Alaska, testified at a hearing on whether a temporary restraining order should keep her from making medical decisions for the critically ill newborn she carried and delivered. West, who calls the child Gabriel, said she wanted to protect him after the boy’s biological parents asked her to kill Gabriel in an abortion after 20 weeks.

“I knew that I wanted to protect him and I knew he deserved to be protected,” West told the court. ---More...

Judge Issues Order Starving 28-Year-Old Patient to Death

Mr Justice McKendrick has ruled that providing clinically assisted nutrition and hydration to sustain the life of a 28-year-old man suffering from a prolonged disorder of consciousness is contrary to his best interests and should cease.

The judgment, released today following a 4-day trial last week, overrules the unanimous view of the young man’s family and all his treating clinicians that the life-sustaining treatment should continue, agreed at a ‘best interests meeting’ in March.

The case is subject to draconian reporting restrictions under the so-called Transparency Order, which Mr Justice McKendrick has ordered to remain in force until the death of the young man, known only as FHR. ---More...

Planned Parenthood Staffer Fired After Reporting Illegal 28-Week Abortion

A former Planned Parenthood executive says she was fired after reporting that an abortionist killed an unborn child about 28 weeks into pregnancy during an after-hours abortion in the basement.

Jacqueline Colyer, formerly vice president of human resources for Planned Parenthood Great Rivers, has sued for wrongful termination. Her complaint alleges that in 2022, Colleen McNicholas, then the affiliate’s chief medical officer, performed an unauthorized late-term abortion at the Fairview Heights center.

According to the lawsuit, employee Kris Winkleman told Colyer that her subordinate, Jamia Swift, was called on a Sunday night and told to unlock the building. ---More...

Study Confirms Liberals Have Fewer Kids Than Conservatives

Liberal Americans have and desire fewer children than conservatives, according to a June 2026 report by the Institute for Family Studies (IFS) titled “The Ideological Fertility Divide.” The report, based on survey results from more than 7,000 Americans aged 18-54, shows statistically significant gaps between ideology types in both the number of children adults currently have and the number of children they want. This gap is due, at least in part, to higher fears about parenting among liberals.

Results

The headline result is that conservative adults have 1.40 children on average, compared to an average of 1.09 for liberals. Another way of framing these data is that conservatives have 28% more children than liberals.

If both numbers seem suspiciously low, remember that the survey targets an age range from 18 to 54. This includes college students and young adults just setting out on their own. The estimated median age for marriage is now 30.8 for men and 28.4 for women, according to the U.S. Census Bureau in December 2025. Thus, 36% of the ages surveyed are younger than the average age of marriage. If the low numbers show anything, it reflects the cultural trend to marry later and have children later than was customary with earlier generations. ---More...
