Bad News Bears need you depressed to deliver change

imageAmerica hit rock bottom at a new kind of Ground Zero yesterday when 55,000 jobs were scrubbed in a single day. While the recession gallops at runaway speed across all the nations of the world, America is the ideal that people long looked to for a better life, made possible by entrepreneurial leadership. The mainstream media insists that a 232-year-old Capitalism kicked the can and breathed its last in October. Almost overnight the world as we know it has become a society of the haves and the have nots. The haves are in White Houses, like the picture-perfect one in Washington, D.C. and in the crystal palaces of Brussels, home of the mighty European Union.

World leaders, and particularly American ones, seem to have glum news to feed a fawning media each new day. The situation is bad and not likely to be getting better any time soon, according to them. News giants like FOXNews that used to “tell it like it is”, now publish bleak headlines interspersed with vital information like which Hollywood stars are hot, which ones are not. According to today’s Fox headlines, Bill O’Reilly is asking “Why is America so corrupt?” Not why are American politicians so corrupt, but why America is so corrupt. The big question should be why are Washington’s new administration and the mainstream news media going so far out of their way to worry and depress people? A guy who needs to go home to his wife and children with the terrible news that he’s been laid off, needs encouragement and a pat on the back. And that’s not to mention a new job as soon as possible. For the first time in 12 years, Canada is in a $64-billion, two-year deficit. Were the Liberal and Conservative politicians hiding it under Parliament buildings? Iceland, yesterday, collapsed in bankruptcy. In no matter which direction you look, workers are being sent packing in all corners of the globe. Are people going to be forced to live in tents in the cities of the kind promoted by left-wing politicians like former Toronto Councillor Jack Layton, now Canadian New Democrat Party leader a decade ago? Will the family car now have to serve as Home Sweet Home? Where will pink-slipped people go? How will they feed their families? Why are we reading stories that super inflation will hit the food at the local supermarket, and that water will have to be delivered by armed guards? In all of the uncertainties, one thing is certain: Never at any other time in world history have people been so badly let down by their own governments. Politicians of all political stripes (at least generally speaking) are motivated by power lust, and ego. Here in North America people are starting to ask how many corporations can be bailed out by the American and Canadian governments? Why would any government choose billion dollar bailouts when easing taxes would make the biggest difference? When did big government and corporate media join together in lockstep? Did you ever think the day would come when the sledgehammer power of an administration would be turned on a single private citizen like radio’s Rush Limbaugh? Socialism’s main intent is to demoralize. For believers in the Almighty, it kills the human soul. For the atheist and the secular world, Socialism kills off energy. It kills all light in the dark tunnel ahead. The Steven Spielberg/Nancy Pelosi mantra, “May the force be with you” takes its roots from a fairytale world of pretend. We will see in coming weeks and months that the Pied Piper of Change meant changing you and your world when he was out on the Hustings. Despite the bleak world the new administration and its in-lockstep media are painting, it is more important now than ever to keep your spirits high. As poison as their agenda may be, they can’t possibly come to every house, every apartment, every nook and cranny where real people congregate. For some every day is going to be survival. The agents of the new administration want you to believe that there is no hope without them; that you will lose your job first, the roof over your head second and have nowhere to turn except to them. Hype and a cult like atmosphere notwithstanding, untold millions left the boob-tube off on January 20, 2009. They got together with family and friends, daring to hope for better days to come. Even American Idol had more fans than Inauguration Night. In order for politicians in power lust to succeed, they need you, not just as an audience, but to depress, deject and demoralize you. Their next stage will be alarm. Something ominous in order to have you look to them for a collective rescue. People who are dropped off in limousines, those who never had to worry about keeping their school age children in shoe leather, the rent or the mortgage paid, think it’s going to be a pushover. The dropped off by limousine set never had to tell each other that “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” Little people down through the ages have struggled to provide a better life for their children and will continue to do so against all odds. That’s a change no politician, no matter how ruthless, can deliver. People don’t look to the palace for change. They look to their families and trusted friends. In short, they look to each other. No politician, now matter how mighty, can really change the human heart. Those who tried, like Hitler and Stalin, went down in ruin. Politicians need calamities from which to save the masses. All the masses really need is to continue to believe in themselves, no matter how bad the circumstances, to keep morale flying as high as Kevin’ kite and to above all else, to Keep the Faith.
