Be careful what you wish for

I don't want my sons and grandsons to be drafted into the military. I certainly don't want my daughters and granddaughters to be drafted.

I don't want my sons and grandsons to be drafted into the military. I certainly don't want my daughters and granddaughters to be drafted. Furthermore, given the fact that "we are living in the most peaceful time in history" according to Pres. Obama, and, because we are cutting funding for the military, do we need a draft at all? Are there not enough young people volunteering to keep the levels set by this administration? But those arguments aside, there is a wise saying, "Be careful what you wish for". Women have pushed for equality on all fronts. Whether you come down on the side of 100% equal rights or on the side of men being men and women being women, this proposal is the logical outcome of the movement. Somehow, to this woman, this doesn't feel like a win any way I view it. Lois Virgo
