Bernie Sanders pushing buttons of the discouraged young
"Tax the rich" mantra
Bernie Sanders proposes spending 1 Trillion dollars on our infrastructure. There is no doubt that the infrastructure is sorely in need of repairs. Roads and bridges are old and often unsafe. Utilities are aging and, as in the case of Flint, MI, are posing health risks. Water supplies are vulnerable to terrorism.
Sanders proposes funding the work need on our infrastructure by taxing corporations on their offshore accounts but the 65-page report he refers to on his website is an information document that explains how the money is moved offshore legally. There is no proposal for how to stop the practice or how to generate money from funds held offshore.
It seems Sanders has an ability to push the buttons of the discouraged young people who are struggling in this horrible economy and who see no bright future. Trouble is, he is totally void of a real plan to fix things. His mantra is "tax the rich". But legislation has to be drafted and approved, a process that he and the Democrats weren't able or willing to do when they had control.
