In the old days, what was called “biding our time” — waiting for something to happen, HOPING it was going to be good — has been redefined today to, “Biden our time” — waiting for something to happen, KNOWING it’s going to be bad. The acronym for either is BOT, but it’s clearly more relevant to the new iteration. Yep, a mindless BOT “ruining our time” — ROT — i.e., inflicting BOT ROT.
Relevant to the redefinition, Ayn Rand once said, “you can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality”
Rand stated that in terms of an individual — “you” — avoiding reality, but what happens when someone in a leadership position does so?
Quite possibly, people in that leader’s sphere of influence will also be unable to “avoid the consequences of [him/her] avoiding reality.” That could disperse the problematic outcomes significantly. And that’s assuming said higher-up has a firm grasp on reality, thereby knowing what it is he or she is avoiding.
What if the person in charge can’t discern real from imaginary?
Then you’re looking at a potential calamity in the making, with the costs and penalties for others increasing exponentially.
Welcome to America in 2023.
In this “Biden our time” (BOT) era, seldom seems able to distinguish between factual and fictional. As a result, Rand’s quote should now be modified to: OTHERS “cannot avoid the consequences of 'BOT' avoiding reality” AND/OR not comprehending reality.
Illustrations of this problem are numerous and growing by the day. OTHERS impacted are Americans predominantly, but one of the early fiascos had broader implications … MUCH broader when erosion in world standing is factored in.
Due to the 'BOT' imposed evacuation debacle, Afghans “cannot avoid the consequences of 'BOT' avoiding reality” AND/OR not comprehending reality. More than 170 Afghans died at the hands of a suicide bomber August 26, 2021 as a result. Thirteen Americans couldn’t “avoid the consequences of 'BOT' avoiding reality” either; it cost them their lives that day as well. In addition, the number of Afghans slaughtered thereafter was orders of magnitude larger than at the Kabul airport in August.
A multinational case of lethal BOT ROT.
Compounding the tragedy, U.S. military credibility on the international stage splashed into the latrine as a result and it hasn’t shown any signs of crawling back out since.
Just a common-sense assessment said that was true, but defense professionals have now weighed in with their confirmation. The title of a recent article says it all: “Enemies no longer fear US response after Biden botched Afghanistan, experts say among balloon, drone clashes”. One of the experts highlighted “the incompetence of the policymakers that supervised the withdrawal,” noting that Russia and China “no longer fear U.S. deterrence.”
Putin’s invasion of Ukraine was probable fallout from Afghanistan. And beyond Russia and China, the BOT ROT evacuation has emboldened other rogue regimes, e.g., Iran and North Korea.
But, 'BOT' has no clue.

Due to the BOT #1 imposed illegal immigrant debacle, Americans “cannot avoid the consequences of [BOT #1] avoiding reality” AND/OR not comprehending reality. For Americans living on the southwest border, the outcomes have been catastrophic, but all U.S. citizens are paying the BOT ROT price — financially and otherwise — for this insanity.
Long-term, it’s anyone’s guess how bad the consequences will be. Hundreds of individuals on the terrorism watch list have been captured at the border. Among the now massive numbers of got-aways, there’s no telling how many hundreds or thousands of terrorists were among them.
What BOT ROT outcomes might the fanatics be plotting on American soil?
'BOT' has no clue.
Due to the 'BOT' imposed energy debacle, Americans “cannot avoid the consequences of 'BOT' avoiding reality” AND/OR not comprehending reality. The U.S. was energy independent prior to 'BOT' taking office. But, to pacify a mob of ROT woke folks who were screaming about climate change, 'BOT' started trashing the fossil fuel industry from day one in office.
The fact that America is the cleanest producer of fossil fuel energy in the world was deemed unimportant. Ditto the fact that America’s electric grid would be incapable of handling the energy requirements if all vehicles operating in the country were electric. And those are just two of innumerable non-reality issues involved with the fossil fuel ignorance. Energy reality died in the face of BOT ROT.
It was replaced by imaginary green energy solutions that are still years to decades away from being practical. That’s just another example of not being able to distinguish between real and make believe.
Do you remember what the cost of gas was before 'BOT' took office?
Regrettably, BOT ROT gas — cheap and in abundance — won’t power your vehicle down the road.
'BOT' has no clue.
Due to the 'BOT' imposed inflation debacle, Americans “cannot avoid the consequences of [BOT #1] avoiding reality” AND/OR not comprehending reality. The fossil fuel BOT ROT just noted launched America’s inflation BOT ROT. Increased fuel costs led to supply chain problems, led to production slow-downs, led to diminished product availability, led to increased merchandise costs, i.e., led to INFLATION! And that cycle just kept going around and around.
Causing what?
BOT ROT-fertilized INFLATION!
Plus, there is no doubt whatsoever that inflation contributed to the recent bank failures … piled on financial BOT ROT.
Are you sensing a trend here?
Regardless, 'BOT' has no clue.
The list could go on … and on … and on, but the bullet points above hit some of the most egregious lowlights. Anything BOT #1 touches — or his team of incompetents get close to — turns to slimy BOT ROT almost instantly.
How much longer can anyone in America defend the indefensible practices of these folks?
Our whole nation is quickly joining the American military in the latrine noted above. As an American patriotic who has served America — a drafted and PROUD combat veteran — I find what has happened to the country since 'BOT' took office nauseating and despicable. Anyone who loves America should be sick.
Clearly, every vote in each and every election going forward — local, state, and federal — is going to be vital to turn things around, but it won’t be easy. BOT ROT has taken a huge toll throughout America and, unfortunately, it’s unlikely that we’ve hit ROT bottom yet.
“Biden our time” is ruining America … unquestionably. But America has been down before and those who love American, pulling together, can bring her back as they’ve done before.
It’s time to start steering the USS America away from the BOT ROT iceberg.
