California Attorney General Rob Bonta is seeking more than $20 million in fines against two pro-life organizations for providing information and referrals about Abortion Pill Reversal to women.
The pregnancy centers help mothers who regret taking the first pill in a chemical abortion regimen and have saved over 10,000 babies from abortion across the country.
In a trial brief filed ahead of a June 24 hearing, Bonta argued that when Heartbeat International and RealOptions offer hope to women seeking to save their babies, it “only underscores the seriousness of their misconduct.”
The state is asking a judge to impose $19.86 million in penalties against Heartbeat International and $640,000 against RealOptions. Bonta is also seeking a permanent injunction that would restrict the groups’ ability to speak about Abortion Pill Reversal. ---More...
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Mother Tried to Abort Him, But He Survived
One of the greatest spectacles of our times is upon us. The thrill we have all had to wait for four years to relive: The World Cup is on. And I can’t wait to get home this week to live it out with my grandkids for the next month.
I grew up of Catalan descent, which should have made my soccer loyalties simple. It did not. For years, I cheered for Italy because I loved the beauty, the chaotic discipline, and drama of their national program. I cheered them all the way to their World Cup win in 2006. Then corruption dragged Italian soccer down, and the national team suffered under its weight. A few years later, my grandsons introduced me to the greatness that is Lionel Messi, and I became a devoted fan of Argentina’s national team. ---More...
Only 17% of Republicans Support Killing Babies in Abortions
The partisan divide on abortion has grown starkly wider over the past few decades, a new poll shows.
Only half as many Republicans identified as pro-choice in 2026 as did in 2006, with this percentage falling from 34% in 2006 to 17% in 2026, according to a Gallup poll released Wednesday. Meanwhile, the percentage of Democrats who identified as pro-choice rose from 62% to 81% over the same 20-year period.
The percentage of Republicans calling themselves pro-choice is down 25 points from 31 years ago while the percentage of Democrats identifying as such went up 23 points in the same time period, the survey found. In 1995, 58% of Democrats and 42% of Republicans identified as pro-choice. ---More...
Thirds of Babies With Down Syndrome in Iceland are Killed in Abortions
Virtually everyone, and that most certainly included me, took away from CBS News’ devastating 2017 report that virtually all women in Iceland who received a positive test for Down syndrome aborted their babies. As Elaine Quijano wrote at the time
Since prenatal screening tests were introduced in Iceland in the early 2000s, the vast majority of women — close to 100 percent — who received a positive test for Down syndrome terminated their pregnancy.
While the tests are optional, the government states that all expectant mothers must be informed about availability of screening tests, which reveal the likelihood of a child being born with Down syndrome. Around 80 to 85 percent of pregnant women choose to take the prenatal screening test, according to Landspitali University Hospital in Reykjavik.
I railed against the CBS News report and how before the segment even aired, the network tweeted that “Iceland is on pace to virtually eliminate Down syndrome through abortion.” Of course, as Patricia Heaton posted in her own tweet that “Iceland isn’t actually eliminating Down Syndrome. They’re just killing everybody that has it. Big difference.” ---More...
California Becomes First State to Try to Stop Abortion Pill Reversals
Democratic California Attorney General Rob Bonta has filed a lawsuit against a pro-life charity for its alleged “false and misleading” promotion of the abortion pill reversal.
Bonta filed the lawsuit against Heartbeat International, a pro-life charity, and pregnancy resource center RealOptions Obria Medical Clinics in September 2023 claiming that the organizations have been providing women with “with false and misleading statements” and engaging in unlawful and unfair business practices regarding their promotion of Abortion Pill Reversal (APR), according to Bonta’s legal complaint.
“This is the first case of its kind to reach trial, and the implications extend far beyond Heartbeat International,” said Danielle White, general counsel for Heartbeat International, in the press release. “A ruling in California’s favor would hand attorneys general across the country a roadmap to penalize any non-profit organization that provides women with information the state disagrees with.” ---More...
