A Report Card on Canada, the Conference Board of Canada

Canada gets a “B” in education

In its report How Canada Performs: A Report Card on Canada, the Conference Board of Canada gave the country a "B" in education and skills, down from last year's "A."

While Canada boasts a strong high school graduation rate and its PSE completion is the best among 17 peer nations, about 40% of working-age adults have low literacy skills. In order to boost its grade, Canada needs to improve access to education and skills outside the traditional school system, as well as increase the number of "high-end" PhD graduates it produces.
