Canadian convicted in grisly killing

WINNIPEG, Ontario, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- A Canadian man was found guilty of murder Tuesday for killing and dismembering a man in a Winnipeg hotel after picking him up at a bar and having sex with him.

Sydney Teerhuis had admitted killing Robin Greene at the Royal Albert Arms Hotel in July 2003 but sought a manslaughter conviction, contending he was too drunk to have done it deliberately. However, a Winnipeg jury decided he was guilty of second-degree-murder, the Winnipeg Free Press reported. Teerhuis was found to have stabbed Greene, then beheaded, castrated, dismembered and disemboweled him. Teerhuis faces a mandatory life sentence with no possibility of parole for 10 years.
