Capitol Police will open field offices to investigate threats against members of Congress

The U.S. Capitol Police will form field offices in two states to investigate threats to congressional members amid other heightened security initiatives after the Jan. 6 riot in Washington, D.C. The first two offices will be located in California and Florida as part of the USCP's initiative of "enhanced security for Members of Congress outside" the nation's capital, the department said Tuesday.
