Cardinal Ignores Catholic Pro-Life Teachings, Gives Award to Abortion Activist
The U.S. bishops’ statement “Catholics in Political Life” says Catholic institutions “should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles”

The highest official in the Catholic Church in Illinois gave an award to a radical abortion activist who has literally funded the deaths of unborn babies.
Meanwhile, outside the swanky fundraising dinner where the award was given, pro-life advocates protested and called the Catholic leader to follow the Catholic Church’s pro-life teachings and Biblical values instead.
Cardinal Blase Cupich took part in a high-profile fundraiser for Mundelein Seminary days before Election Day that honored Michael Sacks, a major donor to abortion causes.
The opposition is based on Sacks giving over $1 million to groups that kill babies in abortions or facilitate abortions.
Illinois Right to Life has pointed to records showing approximately $1.1 million in support from Sacks for abortion-related causes since 2020, including $500,000 from the Sacks Family Foundation to Planned Parenthood of Illinois between 2020 and 2022 and a $600,000 contribution toward an initiative that benefited Planned Parenthood of Illinois and the Chicago Abortion Fund. ---More...
Democrats’ Top Two Priorities: Abortions Up to Birth, Taxpayer-Funded Abortions
In September, Democrats put out a memo listing bills they will pass if they gain a majority in the House in the midterms. Addressed to Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, the memo was titled “Cost-of-Living Healthcare Working Group Memo on Democratic Healthcare Action for the First 100 Hours, First 100 Days, and First Year of the 120th Congress.” Under their “First 100 Hours” list are two alarming abortion bills:
On the Democrats’ “First 100 Hours” list
The Abortion Until Birth Act: Deceptively named the “Women’s Health Protection Act” by the Democrats, this measure would ban pro-life state laws and allow abortion in all months of pregnancy in every single state.
The Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance Act: A bill to end the Hyde Amendment which protects taxpayers from being forced to fund abortion on demand.
To stop the Democrats from enacting this extreme wish list from Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America (SBA) and its super PAC Women Speak Out (WSO) are fighting back. Investing $80 million to protect life during this election cycle, the groups are the pro-life counter to the big money going to Democrat campaigns from the abortion lobby. The groups’ voter contact program that will reach 10.5 million voters by Election Day is one of the largest in the nation and the largest in the pro-life movement. ---More...
Americans Need to Vote Pro-Life on These Key Abortion Amendments
With voters in four states considering abortion-related ballot measures this Tuesday, Clare Ath, senior policy analyst at Human Coalition, a pro-life nonprofit organization, said one of the challenges facing the movement is explaining to voters exactly what those abortion ballot measures would do.
“The pro-abortion movement is trying their best to conflate abortion and miscarriage into the same thing,” Ath said. However, in every state miscarriage care is allowed. The muddied messages have told and convinced voters that if they do not have access to abortions, they will not be able to get care for medical emergencies and miscarriage.
Voters in Missouri, Idaho, Nevada, and Virginia are considering abortion-related ballot measures on Nov. 3. While measures in Idaho, Nevada, and Virginia would protect or expand abortion rights, Missouri’s Amendment 3 would move in the opposite direction by asking voters to reverse abortion protections approved in 2024. ---More...
Appeals Court Rules Idaho Can Enforce Abortion Ban, Save Babies
A divided federal appeals court ruled Friday that Idaho can fully enforce its near-total abortion ban.
The ruled paused a lower-court order that had allowed one abortionist to kill babies in additional health-related circumstances and restoring the state’s ability to protect unborn children.
In a 2-1 decision, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals stayed U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill’s injunction in the case involving abortionist Stacy Seyb. The majority found that Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador and Ada County Prosecuting Attorney Jan Bennetts showed a strong likelihood of success on appeal and would suffer irreparable harm if the injunction remained in effect.
“The Supreme Court in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization plowed the same ground and held that ‘the Constitution does not confer a right to abortion,’” the court wrote in its opinion in Seyb v. Labrador. ---More...
