CFP’s ‘Spookiest’ Halloween Ever
Yesterday was the strangest, if not spookiest, Halloween for Canada Free Press. The day started off with a story headlined ‘Woe Canada’ in the Gateway Pundit with the dire warning that the Justin Trudeau Government would finish off CFP and Rebel Media in the soon coming C-11, the Online Streaming Act. (No mention in the GP story that the Act—already past Second Reading in the Senate— will wipe out all independent news sites including the worthy Post Millennial, True New News and the Canadian Epoch Times, and so many others.) In other words, in the aftermath of Trudeau having bought off most Canadian news outlets with $600-million taxpayer dollars, he’s now coming full-blown after independent conservative ones.
CFP is currently working on a plan to sidetrack this disaster, but will avoid writing about it until the deed is done. Why give Trudy minions a leg up on doing us in? To all dear CFP readers worried about our fate, don’t worry, “we’re on it”, as television detectives always tell their bosses. We will let you know what we are up to as soon as it is safe to do so. The above, even if ever so briefly, covers the evil part. Now for the “spooky”. Having no Trick or Treaters at our door all evening, we were putting our stock of treats away when our doorbell rang well after dark. When we opened the door, a more than 6-ft. tall ‘Grim Reaper’ was standing there. EEK! The sight of him standing there seemed to terrorize our little 12-lb.Yorkie, Yankee who usually struts down country roads, chest out, displaying full macho. Yankee, if allowed, would jump dogs twice his size when out for his daily walks, yet trembled in fright upon seeing the Grim Reaper—even long after seeing him on our front doorstep. The Grim Reaper was assuaged with quadruple handfuls of Treats. Time to put Halloween treats back in the closet and to call it a day. When Yankee stopped shivering so did we, my last Halloween 2022 thought being: “Well, at least it wasn’t Justin Trudeau.”

The legislation also expands the authority of the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to regulate the internet in addition to phones, radio, and television. The CRTC is made up of nine unelected bureaucrats appointed by Trudeau who already displayed their illiberal nature earlier this year when they revoked Russian Television’s broadcasting license at the request of the prime minister. The bureaucrats would be able to remove content online from prominent places where millions of Canadians rely on for their news such as TikTok, Facebook and YouTube. Conservative Canadian websites such as the Rebel and Canada Free Press would almost certainly find their content censored on those websites by government authorities given how much they have criticized Trudeau.

Canada’s Internet landscape is set to be fundamentally changed. Receiving little attention from the mainstream media, Bill C-11 passed the House of Commons in June and will shortly be passed through the Senate and await Royal Assent. This bill will open the floodgates for unelected bureaucrats, appointed by the government of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, to censor and regulate everything on the Internet.
Google takes a stand against Bill C-11--True North News, Oct.6, 2022
The tech giant Google is encouraging Canadians to learn about and oppose the Trudeau government’s Online Streaming Act, better known as Bill C-11. Google Canada is warning Canadians that Bill C-11 will change the YouTube user experience. Google published a Twitter thread linking to a blog post as well as a petition made in collaboration with OpenMedia, pressuring the Senate to amend the bill before it is passed.
