See update below (12/19/13) People of the day want to believe in Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, free stuff and whatever lies President Barack Obama is spouting, but few believe in miracles.
The Miracle on 34th Street was just a Hollywood movie, the miracle of the blind man and his loyal dog surviving the New York subway is the real thing. Out of bustling New York City comes a miracle from subway tracks just one week before Christmas. In possibly the best Christmas message ever delivered by the New York Post, 60-year-old blind man Cecil Williams and his going-on-11 black labrador guide dog, Orlando survived after being struck at the NYC subway. “A brave seeing-eye dog loyally leaped to the subway tracks when his owner tumbled off a Harlem platform Wednesday--and they both survived getting run over by a train, according to witnesses.” (New York Post, Dec. 17, 2013)

“Cecil Williams, 60, was heading to the dentist when he felt faint about 9:30 a.m. on the uptown A train platform. “His guide dog, a black labrador named Orlando, was trained to keep him from going over the edge--and tried to hold him up. The dog was barking and trying to pull him, but Williams fell, according to witnesses. “Straphangers shouted, alerting subway workers. A construction flagger told Williams to stay in the trough between the rails, authorities said . “Authorities said the train operator slammed on his brake, but one and a half cars passed over Williams and Orlando. “Matthew Martin, 54, said that he dog never hesitated. “He went down, and the dog jumped down,” he said. “He wasn’t pulled. He was kissing him, trying to get him to move.” Although Williams cut his head, miraculously, both escaped without serious injury. The picture of Williams and Orlando taken at his hospital bed is one of the most heartwarming Christmas cards you will ever see. The Christmas miracle of Williams and Orlando surviving being struck by the subway also carries a message about the cancellation cruelty of ObamaCare. Orlando, who will be 11 years old on January 5, will have to be retired soon. Williams says his health insurance will not cover the cost of a non-working dog so he will have to look for a good home for Orlando. (Yahoo.com, Dec. 17, 2013). The loyal and courageous lab deserves a palace of a home filled with love and affection. Williams deserves to keep the non-working Orlando and health insurance to cover the costs of a new seeing-eye dog. But no matter what happens to them, Williams and Orlando will be remembered always for reminding the world that miracles do happen even in the saddest of times. Update:

Donations Pour In, Funds Launched for Blind Man Who Got Hit by Subway to Keep Dog Who Saved His Life

Breitbart When the news broke that Cecil Williams would not be able to keep his dog Orlando, funds were launched and donations poured in so Williams could keep his life saving pet. Williams, who is blind, fell onto the subway tracks earlier this week and his seeing-eye dog Orlando followed him, waking him up in time for both to duck beneath the train and escape serious injury.
