WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Congress should vote against provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that fund abortion travel, gender “transition”
surgeries, and other provisions that do not advance military readiness.

This year’s 3,000-page military funding package was negotiated behind closed doors and removed the majority of the provisions House Republicans passed in July. The current version of the NDAA would fund abortion travel for service members and their families, gender “transition” surgeries, drag queen shows on Department of Defense (DoD) installations, race-based admissions at military academies, and more.

Liberty Counsel Action Chairman Mat Staver said, “As it currently stands, the NDAA would force Americans to fund a Pentagon that pays for abortion travel, mutilating surgeries, drag queen shows, and ‘Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’ policies. Instead of focusing on strengthening our nation’s military, this year’s NDAA funding politicizes the military
through woke initiatives and an anti-life agenda that hurt military readiness. It also tramples on Americans’ constitutional freedoms by extending the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) without warrant requirements, which would allow ‘backdoor’ searches of Americans. The radicalization of the military must end, and that can start with not passing the NDAA with its current provisions.”
