Corruption at the California Teachers Association (CTA)

The biggest and most corrupt union belongs to California...the California Teachers Association. They spent millions on progressive liberal political candidates while opposing every issue at the ballot that supported any notion of traditional thought or values.

As a teacher for 35 years the most egregious act came when the local CTA affiliate in my district voted a pay increase for teachers during the 2008-2009 collapse of the economy. While many of our students parents were losing jobs or having hours reduced, the teachers made sure that they got their pay raise on the backs of those who were struggling financially. By the way, as a teacher in California I was forced by law to join the CTA or become a "fee payer " which meant that I paid for union representation in negotiations but was not allowed to vote or have representation should an administrator decide to give me unwarranted negative evaluations, especially because I was a proponent of home schooling and charter schools.
