There are so many exciting things to do on a vacation in Ireland – from cycling the Aran Islands to pouring a pint of the ‘black stuff’ – this and so much more awaits Canadians thanks to Tourism Ireland’s new facebook game ‘Ireland Town’, designed to give players a taste of the island in a new, innovative and fun way.

By taking part in Ireland Town, players can build their own town, visit tourist attractions and send postcards to their facebook friends while taking in all the island has to offer in a fun and interactive way. Players can also earn points by completing a range of virtual tasks and challenges based on the island’s wonderful sights and activities. Points also mean prizes...with the grand prize of a real trip to Ireland! “This is a fantastic new way to give Canadian players the whole Ireland experience,” says Sinead Murray, Manager for Tourism Ireland in Canada. “From painting your face green for St. Patrick’s Day to standing on the boulders of giants at the Giant’s causeway, crowning King Puck at Ireland’s oldest fair to standing on the quay at Cobh and imagining the Titanic making its last port before taking to the Atlantic, Ireland Town has something for everyone.” Some other attractions players can look forward to include visiting the Walled City of Derry, catching the surf at Strand Hill in Sligo, having a laugh at Kilkenny’s Cat Laughs Comedy Festival or visiting Newgrange and the Hill of Tara. To play Ireland Town and enter for a chance to win a trip to Ireland, log-on to our facebook page. You can also follow Tourism Ireland on Twitter: @GoToIrelandCA
