Democrats go fishing whilst their Trump hatred destroys them

The Democrats seem hell bent on their own destruction as the Democrat-dominated US House Committee on The Judiciary (Judiciary Committee) sets out on a fishing expedition casting its nets far and wide among 81 people and organisations seeking evidence to destroy President Trump. The Judiciary Committee has brazenly breached the privacy of its targets by publishing letters and documents being sought from each of them. Each letter pompously and misleadingly declares:

"This is a critical time for our nation. President Trump and his administration face wide-ranging allegations of misconduct that strike at the heart of our constitutional order. Congress has a constitutional duty to serve as a check and balance against any such excesses. We have an obligation to investigate evidence of abuses of executive power, public corruption, and acts of obstruction designed both to undermine our laws and the credibility of the agencies that enforce those laws. We are also responsible for passing laws to address, and prevent the recurrence, of any such misconduct"

No specific claims of misconduct, abuses of executive power, public corruption or acts of obstruction have been made by the Judiciary Committee in what amounts to a desperate bid to uncover anything, anywhere, from anyone that can besmirch or possibly incriminate Trump. While Mueller was bound by grand jury secrecy rules and Department of Justice policies to prevent public disclosure concerning specific allegations during his investigation--the Judiciary Committee has chosen to act out its investigation in full gaze of the media and the public. Naturally the media has already run with the list of those caught up in the Judiciary Committee's net--ensuring they remain hounded targets of continuing interest. The letters of most of those targeted were sent to lawyers and not to them personally. Good publicity for the lawyers and an ominous portent of things to come. Those targeted face enormous personal stress and heavy legal costs as they are relentlessly pursued by a Committee with bottomless pockets and an unlimited army of assistants to trawl through piles of documents. Those letters should be sent back to the Judiciary Committee unopened. The New York Times published an article before the letters had probably even reached their destination--distributing 52 of the recipients under these provocative headings:

3. The Fixers Who Tried to Protect the Campaign
4. Potential Witnesses to Presidential Obstruction
5. The Foreigners and the Web They Might Have Influenced
6. Julian Assange and the WikiLeaks Crowd
7. Cambridge Analytica and Claims of Voter Manipulation

29 targets--including Carter Page - do not feature under any of these lurid groupings. Page is the American citizen against whom four secret warrants were obtained by the FBI in the Foreign and Intelligence Surveillance Court during the 2016 election campaign - based on a false and discredited dossier ordered and paid for by the Democrats which was not fully disclosed to the Court. The warrants enabled the FBI to monitor all Trump campaign emails received by Page whilst a member of the 2016 Trump campaign committee. Senior FBI and Department of Justice officials who swore to the veracity of the Court applications remain uninvestigated. Suspected perversion of the course of justice demands a full and comprehensive Inquiry by the Judiciary Committee which it will undoubtedly avoid like the plague. Ignoring these real concerns that impact the nation whilst embarking on their Trump witch hunt spells political suicide for the Democrats. This is the Democrats manufactured crisis which they will own and which will haunt them till the 2020 elections.
