JUSTIN TRUDEAU AND FIDEL CASTRO AT PIERRE TRUDEAU'S FUNERALPictures don’t lie. Politicians do. The words of public officials lavishing praise on brutal Communist dictator Fidel Castro at the time of his death, like Google, are forever—even after trying to walk them back. Donald Trump was President-elect when Fidel Castro went to meet his Maker on November 25, 2016.

Democrats and their gaggle of faithful reporters, who place hatred-ridden politics over the freedom of the Cuban people

“President-elect Donald Trump initially wrote: "Fidel Castro is dead!" He later issued a statement that read:(Wikipedia)
"Today, the world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castro’s legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of fundamental human rights. “While Cuba remains a totalitarian island, it is my hope that today marks a move away from the horrors endured for too long, and toward a future in which the wonderful Cuban people finally live in the freedom they so richly deserve. “Though the tragedies, deaths and pain caused by Fidel Castro cannot be erased, our administration will do all it can to ensure the Cuban people can finally begin their journey toward prosperity and liberty. I join the many Cuban Americans who supported me so greatly in the presidential campaign, including the Brigade 2506 Veterans Association that endorsed me, with the hope of one day soon seeing a free Cuba.”
Yet, Democrats and their gaggle of faithful reporters, who place hatred-ridden politics over the freedom of the Cuban people, are blaming Trump and the U.S. Embargo for protests and decades long grinding poverty in Cuba.

Some sources more truthfully identify the Cuban government as Communist rather than “leftist”

Specifically, it is former Obama adviser and MSNBC contributor Ben Rhodes —in attendance at Castro’s funeral—who blamed the 'cruel US embargo’ and not living under the heel of Communism for the Cuban peoples' epic suffering.(Fox News, July 12, 2021)
“Some reporters and Democratic candidates running for Congress blamed the United States’ embargo of Cuba as the reason for the recent protests against the communist regime there. “Thousands of Cubans have taken to the streets to lash out at the worsening economic and health conditions under the autocratic leftist government.”
Some sources more truthfully identify the Cuban government as Communist rather than “leftist”.
“President Biden released a statement saying the United States stands with the Cuban people and called for the "Cuban regime to hear their people and serve their needs at this vital moment rather than enriching themselves." (Fox)

American far left politicians are not the only ones who lavished praise on the monstrous Fidel Castro

Words that are at odds with his own party and media scribes.
“Meanwhile, a few fellow Democrats parroted Cuba’s communist government’s talking points and blamed the U.S. for the suffering of the Cuban people rather than the communist government. Many called on President Biden to end the decades-long embargo on the country. (Fox) "The Cuban people suffer doubly from a repressive government and a cruel US embargo. They deserve policies that empower them and help them improve their lives," former senior advisor to President Obama and MSNBC contributor Ben Rhodes tweeted. “Progressive reporters from outlets like NPR, Al Jazeera, The Nation, and The New Republic echoed Rhodes sentiment that the U.S. is to blame for poor economic conditions in Cuba. “Critics of the U.S. embargo of Cuba failed to mention that food and medicine are routinely exempted. Julie Chung, now acting assistant secretary of state for Western Hemisphere Affairs, tweeted last year that the U.S. "routinely authorizes the export of humanitarian goods, agricultural products, medicine, and medical equipment to support the Cuban people.”
American far left politicians are not the only ones who lavished praise on the monstrous Fidel Castro: In keeping with family tradition, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, son of Pierre Trudeau, greeted (picture above) Fidel Castro, who was an honorary pall bearer at Pierre Trudeau’s funeral, had this to say in his condolences to Fidel Castro:
“Prime Minister Justin Trudeau extended his condolences and said of Castro that he was a "legendary revolutionary and orator." (Wikipedia). “He added: "It is with deep sorrow that I learned today of the death of Cuba’s longest serving president. Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. […] Mr Castro made significant improvements to the education and healthcare of his island nation. While a controversial figure, both Mr Castro's supporters and detractors recognise his tremendous dedication and love for the Cuban people who had a deep and lasting affection for 'El Comandante'. […] We join the people of Cuba today in mourning the loss of this remarkable leader."He added that "I know my father was very proud to call him a friend and I had the opportunity to meet Fidel when my father passed away. It was also a real honour to meet his three sons and his brother, president Raúl Castro, during my recent visit to Cuba. On behalf of all Canadians, Sophie and I offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends and many, many supporters of Mr Castro.”

Does the Biden-Harris administration really want to help the Cuban people throw off their socialist shackles?

As for how meaningful the words of Joe Biden on sympathy for the freedom and liberty of Cuba’s people? Colleague Matthew Vadum said it best in today’s Front Page Magazine column:
A day later whoever controls what remains of Joe Biden’s brain released a statement in the name of the placeholder president that sounded somewhat like something a major world leader would say about the civil unrest in the giant, sunny prison with beaches 90 miles from Florida:
“We stand with the Cuban people and their clarion call for freedom and relief from the tragic grip of the pandemic and from the decades of repression and economic suffering to which they have been subjected by Cuba’s authoritarian regime. The Cuban people are bravely asserting fundamental and universal rights. Those rights, including the right of peaceful protest and the right to freely determine their own future, must be respected. The United States calls on the Cuban regime to hear their people and serve their needs at this vital moment rather than enriching themselves.
“Secretary of State Antony Blinken denounced the Cuban regime and its violent crackdown on dissent: The United States stands with the Cuban people seeking freedom and respect for their human rights. Violence against peaceful protestors is abhorrent. We urge restraint and respect for the voice of the people. “But does the Biden-Harris administration, which is fine with communist-inspired critical race theory indoctrination stateside and the ongoing terrorism of Black Lives Matter, really want to help the Cuban people throw off their socialist shackles? “Don’t count on it.”
