Herman Cain is an entrepreneur, a successful businessman, an articulate debater and a genuine novelty in American politics. He’s dangerous to both parties.
Herman Cain is still in the spotlight. Another woman has come forward to proclaim she was harassed and damned near molested while driving in a car, in traffic and without success. He allegedly managed to get his hand under her skirt, move it toward her privates and then try to push her head toward his lap.
You have to wonder: If he was driving, how did he avoid wrecking if this woman was so aggrieved, she protested so loudly and vehemently” Why’d she take over a decade to bring the matter to America’s attention? If they were being chauffeured, there should be a driver to question about whether it happened or not. None of this has been sufficiently explained.
The woman is represented by attorney Gloria Allred, a person who’s never seen an issue she can’t either profit or gain national attention from. Her acceptance of this case into the septic system she calls her practice is evidence of its questionable integrity. It seems the counselor has a track record for taking suspect cases and badgering accused celebrities until a settlement is reached. The main tactic appears to be wearing down the accused until he/she signs a check to make Allred and her latest squirrel go away.
Question: How do you prove or disprove a negative?
Answer: There’s no way.
The modern, internet-driven press and social media allows for instantaneous communication of truth, justice and the American way. It also allows for the dissemination and furtherance of lies, innuendos and slander at speed only hindered by the writer’s manual dexterity and knowledge of a QWERTY keyboard. It’s the home of the skulking cyber-bully and the residence of the viper waiting to strike the unwitting, too ignorant to understand their own fallibility.
The anonymity of any accuser is almost assured. The damage can be monumental and a candidacy is imperiled. There’s NO presumption of innocence until proven guilty. The questions alone can prove toxic.
Allred is a left wing-nut from the land of fruits and nuts. Many of her cases have that readily recognizable artificial numb nuts flavoring so treasured when it comes to character destruction.
It’s been more than dismaying and disturbing to see the Republican Party has stayed out of this mess and failed to stand for Cain. Of course to enter into the fray could be perceived as disloyal to the heir apparent, Mitt Romney.
This matter is of importance to note for its old-school approach to the political arena and the selection process commanded by the old guard.
This entire political debacle seems to be happening because of a lack of intelligent, coherent policy statements from the Republicans Central Command. Nobody there has any idea of what’s good for the nation other than to suggest anything Obama says is worthy of a cryptic statement of: “no, no, no we say it ain’t so!” Then the powers move a little further to the left to look competitive against a man whose claim to fame is no more than what he is, as opposed to how qualified he isn’t.
Cain appears to successfully challenge the old prejudices concerning black people not being able to succeed based on their hard work, qualifications and character. He’s an entrepreneur, a successful businessman, an articulate debater and a genuine novelty in American politics. He’s dangerous to both parties.
That makes him manna for people starving for controversy. It allows Allred et al to skulk out of the dark with no more than evil intent and a need to dance in the spotlight while carrying a pipe-wrench behind their back to club the unwitting into submission.
Cain’s big problem is the same one so many other political wannabees suffered before him. Where a denial would have sufficed, he decided to offer explanations.
Sometimes it’s better to just keep your mouth shut. Now we, the American people, are being hauled around the edges of the issues to see peoples’ dirty laundry flapping in the breeze.
I sincerely doubt we’ll ever know the truth of the allegations or the defense.
But if Gloria Allred is involved, the matter is ALLREDDY suspect in my opinion.
