Defending the American Dream summit

Dream 2013!

It seems apropos that on Labor Day weekend, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) would host its RightOnline and Defending the American Dream summits in Orlando, FL, home to Disneyworld. After all, Walt Disney believed in dreaming big, and all of us can use an infusion of hope and dreams, especially in the face of a government in which both political parties have gone rogue, riding roughshod over the U. S. citizen/taxpayer and our constitutionally guaranteed freedoms. It felt great to escape the lies offered by those in government and supported by those within the puppeteer-controlled media to invest time to rekindle the dream of an exceptional United States, in which people freely pursue liberty and prosperity again!
If you believe in the constraints placed upon the three branches of our federal government by our founding fathers, who were intent upon breaking away from tyrannical rule, the Loews Royal Pacific Resort was the place to be on Friday and Saturday. The theme was not anti-Washington, as reported by several within the puppeteer-controlled media, but anti-un-Constitutional and oppressive Washington. Those within Washington, D.C. need to cease and desist gorging themselves at the expense of the U.S. citizen/taxpayer, while stripping us of our God-given and constitutionally guaranteed freedoms. Attendees acknowledge the need for our federal government to secure our borders (hint, hint to rogue Republicans), mint and coin currency (but not ‘manufacture’ money to hide the spending sins of those within the federal government), and protect us with appropriate military forces (but not deploy an intrusive NSA, TSA, IRS, etc.). Naturalists seek to return our republic to pre-Columbus flora and fauna. Why don’t we return our republic to a healthy respect for God, our constitution, and our liberties, instead?

It was encouraging to see a strong mixture of young and experienced freedom fighters alongside advanced and experienced freedom fighters of all races and faiths, relative newcomers, entire families, and organizations sponsoring booths, all focused upon championing individual freedom, including the right to pursue prosperity. Each of the featured speakers made excellent points during their respective presentations, providing unique insights on an array of issues. Not surprisingly, Senator Rubio (R-FL), and Governor Scott (R-L), received negative catcalls from the freedom and prosperity loving attendees. Senator Rubio’s support of amnesty has him boxed-in. He appeared a bit uneasy, and what he couldn’t say was as powerful as what he did say. Recently, Governor Scott had failed to appear for a three-day education summit he had convened, but he held a somewhat clandestine meeting with former Governor Bush. Sadly, Mr. Bush is a huge proponent of the controversial Common Core curriculum; Common Core was the subject of many conversations during the summit, and even the ‘core’ of one breakout panel focused upon getting a column published in newspapers. Politics makes for strange bedfellows! On the positive side of the approval meter, Michelle Malkin and Senator Cruz headlined a lineup of talented private and public speakers. Michelle Malkin courageously provides insight and hope to all who are hungry for the truth. Senator Cruz made several comments that energized the attendees. Included within these comments is his disdain for career politicians within both parties, abolishing the IRS, and the fact that those leading the fight against defunding ObamaCare are those atop the GOP. With the actions of the Speaker and his capos, one might refer to it as ‘OBoehnerCare’! As stirring as the various speakers were, the breakout sessions were phenomenal. A panel-format allowed the three to four members on each panel to share their insights and wisdom on a given subject, and the members of the panels came prepared. This was an opportunity to learn in a focused, yet fun atmosphere. If only this format could be duplicated within our educational system, with educators devoted to educating, not indoctrinating our students! Additionally, the event provided an opportunity to network with like-minded constitutionalists and freedom fighters within their respective states, and from around the country. It genuinely helps to know that there are talented freedom fighters reprising the roles of our founders in promoting personal freedoms and prosperity throughout our republic. When one thinks about it, freedom and prosperity should not be battlegrounds of Republican vs. Democrat conflict. The desire for freedom and prosperity is innate to the human psyche. Unfortunately, this desire has gone dormant within a large segment of our population. It is our responsibility and opportunity to awaken the slumbering Rip Van Winkles within our society, helping them to realize that their good fortune of being able to pursue prosperity within our republic surpasses the avoidance of gainful labor, and sleeping through the current war being waged against prosperity. The AFP Defending the American Dream summit was an excellent springboard from which to launch a campaign of pursuing the American dream of prosperity!
