Wide-spread misconception, fueled by the so-called "mainstream" media (MSM), about the actual significance of the election polls

ELECTION POLLS

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good voters do nothing. There is a wide-spread misconception, fueled by the so-called "mainstream" media (MSM), about the actual significance of the election polls. Regardless of whether the polls are accurate or not, they do not measure, generally, what they purport to, that is, the preferences of the likely voters when they will have to choose between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. What the election polls do measure is how the American public reacts to the massive out-and-out anti-Trump pro-Clinton propaganda that they are exposed to about every time they turn to MSM for the news. The polls are, de facto, multiple-choice tests that the respondents take after being lectured on whom to oppose and whom to support. They provide a valuable feedback information to the MSM propagandists that tells them which tricks work and which do not. They also constitute an effective tool with which to manipulate public opinion since many prospective voters want to go along with whatever they perceive as the mainstream. It is a vital part of an effective command-and-control structure run by the hostile ruling clique and its useful idiots; the latter sometimes referred to as the "intelligentsia" - college-educated professionals with leanings to the Left.
It turns out that almost half of Americans do react to MSM propaganda the way they are supposed to. They buy it. They pass the test. How surprising is that? The MSM first bombard the viewers and the readers with truckloads of derogatory information about "bad" Trump, while at the same time painting the rosy picture of "good" Clinton. After that, the MSM ask select viewers and readers whom do they prefer. Of course, many will be persuaded, however temporarily, to accept the view that the MSM is hard-selling to them, and correctly repeat the lesson they just learned in the election polls that follow. What is mind boggling, though, is that the MSM have guts to imply that the results of those polls are reflections of spontaneous opinions of the likely voters and not just a repeat of the propaganda that the MSM has planted in voters' minds. The above methodology of persuasion is not new. It has been successfully used for more than 100 years in advertising and marketing. Here is an example. Coke does not sell well enough? No problem. Just expose a large number of consumers to images and messages that persuade some of them to buy it, and they likely will. Of course, not everybody falls for the ads and follows the instructions from the screen, but if the population exposed to the advertisement is large enough, there will be enough persuadable buyers in that population to drive the sales significantly up.

(At least, the Coca Cola Co. is honest enough to not claim that people have a spontaneous thirst for Coke which the Company is making in order to satisfy the pre-existing demand.) As with advertising and marketing, being able to reach out to enough number of persuadable voters is a key to success of political propaganda. And here comes the first obstacle to the MSM political agenda: clever Americans are rather stubborn and show a noteworthy reluctance against their opinion change when directed so by the MSM. They are not as persuadable as the MSM would like them to be, as the picture below illustrates. Here is a graph from [1] that illustrates limited impact of propaganda on white Americans.
As you can see, the split among the white Americans between Trump (red line) and Clinton (blue line) has been remarkably stable and is roughly 54 percent (for Trump) versus roughly 34 percent (for Clinton). The MSM propaganda did not have any significant impact on that split, at least, on the short run. Now, take a look at another graph from [1] that illustrates propaganda impact on black Americans.
Although the split among the black Americans between Trump (red line) and Clinton (blue line) is dramatic (roughly 4 percent for Trump versus roughly 87 percent for Clinton), it shows substantial fluctuations which indicate higher persuadabilty of black voters than that characteristic of the white ones. (After five decades of the MSM propaganda in favor of the Democrat Party, it should surprise no one that most of persuadable voters will overwhelmingly prefer a Democrat over a Republican.)

Naturally, those low-information voters, as well as the inexperienced ones (mostly, the young), are most persuadable. The former, are less likely to see a pattern of deception in propaganda that targets them. The latter, because they are often unable to confront the propaganda lies with their own experience which they are missing. But the intensive indoctrination in public schools and universities have also conditioned those with high-information to propagandistic persuasion; the more schooling did they attend, the more indoctrination were they exposed to. Part of the said indoctrination includes what may be characterized as an immunization to truth. The students are presented with weakened and distorted (or ridiculed) arguments against what is considered "politically correct". Those straw man arguments are then easily refuted. As a result, the indoctrinated students, when they face the real arguments later in their life, will tend to dismiss them up front without serious consideration as something that they already know to be invalid, irrelevant, or wrong. The above also explains why Democrats favor mass immigration from Third-World countries. With potent propaganda machine at their disposal, they will experience very little trouble in turning those immigrants into life members of the Democrat Party. And that is the most severe and permanent damage that wrong immigrants inflict to our country. If you are still in doubt, just look at what kind of corrupt and incompetent governments did they elect in their native countries, and the misery for all that followed. Now, take this: even conservative blacks overwhelmingly vote Democrat in national elections. That would - most likely - have not been the case if they were not so easily persuaded by the MSM propaganda. Returning to the main subject of this column, one can ask what are better instruments, if any, to measure voters' actual preferences. Unfortunately, none at this time. Certainly, the enthusiasm that the voters show towards their preferred candidates is quite adequately measured with the sizes of the crowds that both candidates do attract; Trump's are huge and Clinton's are small, but this in itself is not a very credible indicator of the electoral majority sentiments. In a country with practically unrestricted freedom of speech (as America used to be until the "Liberals" liberated us from it), the bumper stickers, the yard signs, and personal communications (verbal and otherwise) would give a very good sense what the majority in given locality thinks of the candidates. Unfortunately, too many people yielded to the "Liberal" intimidation and they often do not dare to exhibit their support of Trumps and criticism of Clinton (see [2]). So, one cannot figure out what the voters think by just looking around. And that is not a coincidence; it is a result of carefully orchestrated efforts by the ruling clique that is only interested in controlling the American people and not in facilitating free expression as described in First Amendment. If you remember Orwell's "1984", that was exactly how the oppressive and totalitarian government controlled its people - by making them afraid to express their opposition to the "establishment". I would like to point out here one of the absurdities pertaining to First Amendment in this context. Well, some say, the ruling clique and its MSM propagandists have all the freedom of speech and press to deceive the American public as they please. This, however, is not the case. The U.S. Constitution has its purpose, spelled out in the Preamble to the Constitution and in the Preamble to the Bill of Rights. It has been a two millennia-old legal doctrine that one cannot use the law against its purpose. And the purpose of the "Freedom of Press" clause of the First Amendment was NOT to allow the MSM conspire to deceive the American voters and, by skewing (or rigging) the election process, to facilitate the ruling clique's hostile takeover of our Republic. Mind you, 50 years ago there were about 60 different news organizations. Today, six corporations control the news that is delivered to you. (You probably heard of the new $80 billion merger in this sector.) As a result, this year's elections are not unlike the ones in Soviet Union: a ruling clique-approved candidate (Clinton and Obama are often pictured hugging each other, just like the First Secretaries of Communist Parties in Soviet Zone countries did) is supported by its all propaganda outlets, and the elections are called even before they begun. The clique has an upper hand and the voters are told, with typical Left's arrogance, that there is nothing they can do about it. So, what can we do, you might ask? Quite a lot. If the situation were as hopeless as some seem to suggest, the MSM would have rested the case quite some time ago. But they have not. On the contrary, they have shifted their smear-Trump campaign into overdrive. And that is, definitely, good news; the game is far form over, and they know it. So, if you feel that you are in a minority that cannot win against the ruling clique (some use the noun "establishment" in this context), try to see the reason for your pessimism. You may notice that it is the MSM "news" that made you feel that way. You were persuaded by their potent propaganda that you have lost, already. And the election polls were part of this well-orchestrated persuasion effort. The bottom line is that your mood measures the effectiveness of the propaganda that you were exposed to rather than your actual chances to prevail. The next thing the media will do is to claim that very few people actually support Trump (a blatant lie which they hope to get away with), so that we get discouraged and will not object to he election fraud for Clinton's benefit. But you must resist and object. Just stick to your only winning strategy: make sure you vote on November 8 and that your vote counts. Urge others like you to do the same. And don't listen to the MSM and their election propaganda. It is a ridiculously small price to pay for keeping your American dream alive. Because all that is necessary for the triumph of evil Clinton is that good voters do nothing.
