EU threatens to force Britain to take migrant workers

David Cameron and his Conservative government do talk tough on immigration reform and they do propose tougher measures to implement their rhetoric. The problem they have is that Brussels eurocrats continue to undermine British sovereignty.
Margaret Thatcher’s Conservatives recognized that joining the Schengen group, which abolished European border checks, was bad for Britain. Successive Conservative and Labour governments have followed suit. But the EU, which incorporated the Schengen treaty into its law, has effectively made an end run around the UK by requiring Eastern European immigrants to be accepted into the UK despite British desire not to take them in such an unregulated way. The EU Commission this week proposed a law that would help migrants who want to come to the UK by giving them more information about their rights. It also requires that Britain makes it easier to be sued by these migrants if they are denied benefits.

The ‘you can sue us’ legislative proposal is extraordinarily contradictory. Britain, under order from Brussels, has to decree that if it successfully enforces restrictions of its social welfare policy it must then make accommodation for those unqualified applicants to sue for financial benefits, because they’ve been denied. Not surprisingly Nigel Farage, leader of the anti-EU UKIP, wasted no time in providing timely commentary on the situation saying “This statement has been put out specifically to stick two fingers up at David Cameron. It shows clearly that he and his Government are entirely impotent despite all their protestations. Membership of the EU means you have lost control of your borders. It is that simple. To rub salt into the wounds, they expect the British taxpayer to pick up the tab for training foreign nationals on how to access our welfare system.” Farage’s comments are telling with local elections in the UK only days away. However he could have expanded by pointing out David Cameron’s excellent relationship with Barack Obama; who has done something similar by explaining in the Mexican media how their citizens can claim benefits in the USA once they manage to arrive there. The Bulgarians meanwhile are flexing their new found EU muscles. Bulgaria is a leading beneficiary of EU tyranny as it will get to offload some of its ‘workforce’ on the UK. The Ambassador to the UK, not content with being able to tell Cameron to sod-off, has labeled UKIP election leaflets as a “threat”, as “unacceptable” and as “hostile propaganda.” It is astonishing to see this attitude from the Bulgarians. An economic wasteland after decades of Soviet communism; rescued by America’s liberating policies in the eighties, Western European tourism, and now EU membership. Instead of gratitude, the country that once murdered its own citizen at a London bus stop now demands that Britain bankroll the Bulgarian people. The ongoing engulfing of the few relatively stable economies in Europe will continue until they become overwhelmed and economically unsustainable. This smug, elitist position believes it is entitled to have everybody else’s stuff regardless of how it was actually earned, and without consideration to why they haven’t attained it themselves. Britain has one choice that it must take while it is still available to them. That is EU exit! There will come a time in the not too distant future where the right to make that choice will be removed. The question that Americans occasionally ask will arise at some point – does a state have the right to leave the union? British national sovereignty is at stake. Too few in the existing political structure seem willing to seriously push for that option. It will be up to the people to demand it by whatever steps are necessary. If they don’t British individuality will slip into obscurity.
