Facing Epic Leadership Failure

Facing Epic Leadership Failure, McCarthy, McConnell, McDaniel
If the Republican Party were a major sports franchise, there would be some changes made by the ownership of the team. The owners are the voters who, with bad choices at best to make at the ballot box, must endure yet more whining and finger pointing episodes from those who have ascended to the top of the party apparatus. We see feckless, vapid and vacuous individuals who may be elected to public office, but who lack even the slightest scintilla of leadership ability. However, our “leaders” have failed us miserably in the past three election cycles.

Push the weak kneed, limp wristed, spineless special interest shills out of the way

Going back to the sports analogy (and apologies to those who are not sports fans), if a team had three losing seasons or underperformed (2018, 2020 and 2022), there would be changes made in the coaches (McConnell and McCarthy) and in the general manager (McDaniel). The owners would demand changes, so changes ought to be made. What we find out, however, is that the fix is in and what the voters want doesn’t really matter. Of the nearly 170 people who comprise the republican central committee, 101 of them have signed a letter to support Ronna Romney McDaniel. She may be a great person, but she has been in charge for the past four election cycles and the party has underperformed in three of them. It’s time for a change. I am particularly disappointed in three of my friends who signed that letter supporting McDaniel. Tamara Scott (Iowa national committee woman), Steve Scheffler (Iowa national committeeman) and Jeff Kaufmann (Republican Party of Iowa Chairman) all put their names on that letter. Maybe they know something we don’t, and if they do, they need to tell us very soon. When one sees that the fix is in, one is most likely to move away from politics as fighting for what is right and good seems to be a fool’s errand at best. People will stay at home, close their pocketbooks and turn off the news because there won’t be a dime’s worth of difference in the two parties. The elected officials of both parties want the power and prestige of being in office. They are bought and paid for by special interests, and their party organizations continue to endorse their wanton disregard for the voting public. We are asked to take what they dish out and like it, as there are no other options. If conservatives are to have a say in politics in America, they need to find real leaders, work them into those leadership roles and then push the weak kneed, limp wristed and spineless special interest shills out of the way so the work of the people can get done. The conservative voter can no longer accept the status quo. Change must occur, and it will take real courage to step up and stand up to the current leadership of the party. I would not endorse a third party organization, but I would encourage a strong revolt inside the current republican party. It appears we need to clean house and put new people into the party leadership positions. The state convention in 2024 will be a good place to start, but we must do the ground work now so that we are ready to fill the district and state conventions with conservative delegates that will elect conservative committee members. As much as I like my friends, it’s time for a change. The floor is now open for new blood to face up to the RINO wing of the party. There are a host of good conservatives in Iowa who would be splendid representatives of the state on the national scene. Encourage those good, strong and committed conservatives to consider helping to take over the party from the inside out. It’s time conservative voices were heard.
