Fake News Awards Media Gossip Gob-Smack Central
So many people wanted to tune in on President Donald Trump’s #Fake News Awards last night that they crashed the GOP.com site where the “winners’ list was published.

“Fake News Awards” crashed because it was flooded with visitors after Trump tweeted out the link.” (FoxNews, Jan. 17, 2018)

Good going, GOP.com.

When was the last time that the CNN, New York Times or Washington Post sites crashed from too much traffic?

Underlying the ongoing Fake News story scandal is the dirty little not-so-secret problem that news outlets no longer report on the news, they choose instead to gob-smack with gossip the public,  blissfully unaware that their gobsmacking was long ago worn down to tissue paper thin.

“The list, published on GOP.com, noted that “studies have shown that over 90% of the media’s coverage of President Trump is negative.” It went on to call 2017 “a year of unrelenting bias, unfair news coverage and even downright fake news.” (FoxNews)

Too bad that scummy social media like the shadow-banning Twitter didn’t make the Fake News List even though they’ were outed in the same week by James O’Keefe in a stunning Project Veritas expose.

The usual suspects rode high on the Trump Fake News winner list.

“Coming in first place was The New York Times’ Paul Krugman for his prediction that the stock markets would never recover from Trump’s election. (FoxNews)

“In a bit of irony, the Dow Jones industrial average closed above 26,000 for the first time on Wednesday.”

Was the well-deserved King’s Crown placed on Krugman’s wobbly head mostly because CNN Jim Acosta’s head was too swelled to make it fit?

The Fake News Awards bypassed Acosta for his colleagues making CNN a“winner,” with the left-leaning news network making the list four times on the same day that their talking heads had ‘predicted’ President Trump would be felled by a heart attack in “3 to 5” years.

Just as the downright demonic looks of Senator Cory Booker during his fist-pounding ‘mansplaining’ rage during Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielson’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee can’t really kill you, neither can CNN’s wishful thinking.

“The Times was followed by ABC News’ Brian Ross for his botched report that Trump advised former National Security advisor Michael Flynn to make contact with Russian officials during the 2016 campaign.(Fox)

The list pointed to a false CNN report that Trump had early access to “hacked documents” from Wikileaks, a video that suggested Trump overfed fish in a visit with the Japanese prime minister and a report that former FBI Director James Comey would deny saying Trump was told he was not under investigation.

“The Times appeared on the list again for a false report that the Trump administration hid a report on climate change.

“The final “winner” on the list, as Trump described it: “And last, but not least: ‘RUSSIA COLLUSION!’ Russian collusion is perhaps the greatest hoax perpetrated on the American people. THERE IS NO COLLUSION!”

Not everyone in the media is in the tank with Gossip Gob-smack Central and the president made that clear in his #Fake News Awards.

“Without naming anyone, Trump also tweeted out his praise for the “many great reporters.” (FoxNews)

“He continued, “Despite some very corrupt and dishonest media coverage, there are many great reporters I respect and lots of GOOD NEWS for the American people to be proud of!”

As was expected some news fakies tried to get ahead of the #Fake News Awards curve.

Newsweek sent a tweet out Wednesday evening acknowledging its “award.” (FoxNews)

Over at CNN Jim Acosta,  still seething that his most public award came Tuesday when the president gave him his one-word “OUT!”order at the Oval Office, long ago made it to the Fakey News Award List, courtesy of John Q. Public.

Earlier in the evening while defending himself against criticism for asking the president if he wasn’t a racist in relation to his “sh*thole remarks, at a discussion organized by Freedom of Press, Acosta blurted out: “God dam it, I’ll say it aloud—It is our right to ask if the president is a racist.

This is Acosta’s Tweet about last night’s #Fake News Trump Awards:

While they try to leave the impression that it is only President Trump who is calling out Fake News, the media totally ignores that some 73 percent of Americans no longer trust the veracity of the media, according to a report entitled “American Views: Trust, Media and Democracy,” released on Tuesday, January 16, by the Knight Foundation.

Meanwhile the slimy awardees of Fake News have slithered back into their viper pits where you can depend they are now crafting out their next gossip with which to gob-smack the masses.
