According to Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s campaign communications, Canada’s federal election could be called “in a matter of days”.
If that is the case, shouldn’t Poilievre be focused on fighting Liberal PM Mark Carney rather than on America’s president, Donald J.Trump?
What good for the electorate can come from Poilievre’s apparent Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) on public display when the future of his own country badly needs his full attention?
The Canadian election IS imminent, Mr. Poilievre and President Trump is not in the running.
From Poilievre’s latest Trump Tweet: “Last night, President Donald Trump endorsed Mark Carney.
“Why? Because, as Trump said, he’s “easier” to deal with, and knows that I will be a tough negotiator and always put Canada First. Carney is weak and would cave to Trump’s demands, just like he did when he moved his company headquarters from Canada to New York City.
“Canadians don’t want a weak and conflicted leader. They want a strong Prime Minister who will put Canada First.
Fighting President Trump and not Mark Carney is hardly “putting Canada First”.
Trump dished on Poilievre when he could get a word in edgewise on a Laura Ingraham Fox News interview:
"The conservative that's running is, stupidly, no friend of mine. I don't know him, but he said negative things," he said. "When he says negative things, I couldn't care less."
Poilievre is stupidly pussyfooting around the Liberals, whose unelected PM and Trudeau cabinet minsters should be told to recall Parliament, closed since mid-December, immediately.
Rather than pussyfooting around the Liberals, the Conservative Leader should be pointing out to voters the miles-apart difference between Trudeau-Carney Liberals and True Blue Conservatives.
Instead Canadians, many of them cold and hungry due to nine years of crippling Liberal policies, are fostering hatred of everyday Americans.
It kicked off with booing the American Anthem at sporting events, moved on to spray bombing Tesla dealerships in Montreal.
Today it’s the debut of a Halifax, N.S. “Rage Room”:
