Folly and Betrayal Beyond Comprehension

Folly and Betrayal Beyond ComprehensionThe Biden regime, its lackeys and commissars, its mainstream media acolytes, its Deep State apparatchiks, have of a sudden in the late summer of 2021 committed a folly nearly beyond imagining.  A folly so overwhelming it is painful merely to gaze upon it, to even think about it. For the first time in American history we left our own citizens behind – civilian citizens - behind in a war zone.

Impulsively surrendering Bagram Airbase, the most defensible and crucial piece of geography in central Asia

Our military retreated in the face of the enemy before securing the safety of American citizens. This recent action – alone among all others – even when compared to donating 10% of our Defense budget ($85 billion) to the Taliban– is singularly obscene and unforgivable. It is a betrayal of our nation's heritage of commitment to the safety of each of our citizens abroad. And in particular it is a betrayal on the part of our military: If our Armed Forces aren't there to protect citizens then what are they there for?  Sadly, Biden et al chose not only to throw away our people but tens of thousands of others: the NATO allies we didn't warn, hampering their efforts to save their own citizens; the 100,000 or so Afghan allies who served us as soldiers, interpreters, etc., and finally the American Green Card and Special Immigrant Visa holders.   And the vital thread pulling all this together is the fact that we did not have to do any of this. We could have been withdrawing citizens for months prior to August.  But we didn't. Instead, as our first act, we impulsively surrendered Bagram Airbase, the most defensible and crucial piece of geography in central Asia. We could have retained Bagram indefinitely – just as we had for the last 18 months – months during which no American – civilian or soldier - was killed in Afghanistan.  Then, we agreed to permit the Taliban to occupy and control Kabul despite their offer to permit us to hold Kabul at least until we were gone. And at once the five to ten thousand Americans in Kabul became hostages, as did the tens of thousands of our Afghan allies.  Then, we retreated to an indefensible airport in Kabul with only one runway.  Then, we limited our defensive perimeter to only the airport itself.

In August the days ticked down inexorably, yet Biden et al did nothing

Then, we 'persuaded' the Taliban to serve as our perimeter guard – to keep out ISIS suicide bombers and to 'screen' entrants to 'ensure' Americans and our Afghan allies were passed through. Beyond comprehension! Can any serious person doubt that the Taliban were sending their own handpicked Afghans through their perimeter and into the airport, i.e. non-ally Afghans who've not been vetted but who are now pouring by their thousands into America's flyover country heartland – i.e. constituting about 100,000 of the “123,000 biggest airlift in American history?”   Then, we gave the Taliban a detailed list of Americans and Afghan allies still in Kabul and requested the Taliban allow these persons through their roadblocks. (Unimaginable! Psychotic!).  Then, we sent our marines outside of the airport perimeter – undefended – allowing 13 of them to be blown away.  And we did all of this, or rather, our leaders did all of this, in real time and on camera. In August the days ticked down inexorably, yet Biden et al did nothing. They admitted nothing. They remained evasive, unmoved and uncaring. They still are. And every day and all day long most of us grew ever more hopeless and enraged, impotent to affect any change whatsoever.  And as we languish in the endless spewing of the spinmeisters we know what is happening back in Afghan country – an unending blood bath targeting the tens of thousands of our Afghan Allies whose names, addresses, photos and fingerprints are on the lists that we gave the Taliban.  And we know that the ghastly pictures of slaughter, the bloody rebukes and sacrifices, the mocking and humiliations, are once again soon to be shared with us in our living rooms. We will witness suffering beyond imagining and we will be powerless to affect it – having lost our power less than a year ago when we elected the most callous and incompetent President (and Administration) in the history of our nation.  Good times.  Thank you, Joe Biden.
