“Fox News Lies”

It's past time that someone reacts to the constant bleating of "Fox News lies" emanating from the left.

While this mantra is seemingly never ending, one never hears any details of the "alleged" lies. I would like to assume that these detractors have the sophistication required to discern the difference between news and opinion, and that the "lies" are not differences of opinion, erroneously accepted as hard news. I would like to offer a benchmark that would be helpful when judging the veracity of any news source. Two months before the 2004 election, Dan Rather, the revered CBS anchor, obtained forged documents that he proffered as evidence that George Bush was derelict in his National Guard duties. He ultimately defended the forgeries to the extent that he and many others lost their careers. He once said "... they may have been forgeries but it's all true". That, my friends on the left, is an example of an actual lie, and Fox News has never and would never stoop to this level of prevarication! Here is a challenge to the left, painful though it might be, watch Fox News on a daily basis. If and when you find a lie approaching the Rather/CBS magnitude, tell the world "Fox News lies" and supply the details. Until then, please, don't embarrass yourself. You might find that once you experience fair and balanced reporting and are exposed to the literal truth, you may see the light and join the mainstream of society. Sylvia E. Warren Englewood, FL
