The hundreds of loggers, farmers and ranchers who came off their farms and out of the forests and fields to circle Oregon's capitol in protest of their government's force-fed climate bill yesterday, didn't just take a classic stand for the Beaver State, but for all other states in the union. Their major protest proved for once and for all that you don't learn anything useful about The Environment sitting behind a desk in an air-conditioned government office, you can only learn it by working the land dawn 'til dusk.
High falutin' politicians never dirty their hands in the soil. Farmers, loggers and ranchers dig into the earth, respecting and nurturing it for what it really is--an absolute Godsend. Kudos to all laborers of the land for driving the point home in Oregon yesterday: Farms Feed Cities; tinkering with that social justice propaganda called Global Warming/Climate change is tinkering with the lives and jobs of the very people government was elected to serve.
"People at Thursday's rally came from all over Oregon in support of the Republican senators, some traveling for nearly three hours Thursday morning. (Salem Statesman Journal, June 27, 2019.) "Standing in the rain, many wore hard hats or held American flags. Most had signs, with sayings such as "rural lives matter," "make Oregon ours again" and "they walked for me," referring to Senate Republicans." "It was one of the largest rallies of the 2019 legislative session, complete with flags, signs and songs and made all the more overwhelming by the blaring of horns from the constant stream of semi-trucks, pickups and farm equipment that circled the Capitol for several hours."

So obsessed with forcing their greenhouse gas emissions cap-and-trade bill on the masses, 18 Senate Democrats and Oregon Democrat Governor Kate Brown sicced the cops on 12 Republicans who absconded, trying to draw from them their needed quorum. None of the Republicans out on the lam were successfully dragged back as big rigs from all over the state arrived in time for the morning commute.
"With 18 members, Democrats are in the supermajority, but they need two Republican senators to reach a quorum of 20. A two-thirds quorum is needed to do any business. (Salem Statesman Journal) "...HB 2020 would have been the nation's second economy-wide cap on greenhouse gas emissions. Its purpose was to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 80% below 1990 levels by 2050."
HB 2020 is straight out of the dictates of UN Agenda 21 (Agenda 2030).
"Supporters said it would create new, clean energy jobs and position Oregon for future federal action. Opponents said it would drive business out of state and make gasoline and other fuels unaffordable.(Salem Statesman Journal) "The Senate can adjourn with the bill still on the agenda, killing it for the session. "Governor Brown already has said she is willing to call a special session on July 2 if the Legislature doesn't complete its work."

Canada Free Press (CFP) is proud that its columnist A. Dru Kristenev was the first to point out that while "national media has been quick to cover Oregon Governor Kate Brown's militaristic response to Republican legislators who have cut senate sessions and left town", "what has made few inroads into the national news cycle is the rebellion of truckers, loggers and, according to a source, upcoming protest by farmers." (CFP, June 26, 2019)
"Brown's reaction was to condemn the senators for dereliction of duty and charge the state police with the task of rounding up the truants and compelling them to return to Salem. "As well, Brown's hysteria is being called hypocritical as her history was revealed, dredging up the fact that she had led a similar exodus in 2001 over redistricting." "Climate change promoting media that refuses theory challengers access to speak, claimed the absent senators had teamed-up with patriot groups supposedly vowing violence against the State. Citing tweets from unaffiliated individuals inferring violence haven't traced back to any official statements from grassroots groups. Stories claiming a threat from militia against democrat lawmakers are admittedly unsubstantiated, in this instance by the Associated Press."

"Those of us who make a living from the land are the best environmental stewards there are."

Kristenev also proved that not all news can be social media-suppressed. Her Tuesday column drew thousands of online shares. But the last word on HB 2020 belongs to fifth-generation farmer, Marie Bowers, who says: "Those of us who make a living from the land are the best environmental stewards there are." It is the rural folk in Oregon who have birthed a new chant for the nation: 'Save the Environment--From Meddling Government Social Justice Warriors'.
