Gallup Poll Shows More Americans Want to Ban Abortions

Gallup’s newly released May 1-17 Values and Beliefs poll shows an encouraging change in how Americans currently think about abortion.

After hovering around 13% since 2022, when the Dobbs decision was handed down and Roe overturned, Gallup’s 2026 poll showed a 4% jump in Americans who believe abortion should be illegal in all circumstances.

There was also an encouraging 4% decrease in Americans who think abortion should be legal under most circumstances, falling from 19% in 2025 to 15% in 2026.

The number of Americans who identify as pro-life also showed progress. In Gallup’s 2022 poll, which began on the same day the Dobbs decision was leaked (May 2), 39% of Americans identified as pro-life. In the most recent 2026 poll, that number increased by 3% with 42% of Americans now considering themselves to be pro-life. ---More...

Baby Has First-Ever Surgery in the Womb to Stop Intestines Growing Outside His Body

Doctors at Texas Children’s Hospital successfully performed what they describe as the first surgery of its kind in the United States on an unborn baby to correct a severe intestinal defect.

The surgery is allowed the child to be born full-term and healthy.

Theo French, now 5 months old, was diagnosed at his mother’s 20-week ultrasound with complex gastroschisis, a condition in which the baby’s intestines develop outside the body through an opening in the abdominal wall. The defect left the unborn child’s organs exposed to amniotic fluid, risking severe damage.

Complex cases of gastroschisis can require months in a neonatal intensive care unit, multiple surgeries after birth, prolonged intravenous feeding, and in some instances prove fatal, with mortality rates of about one in 10 even under the highest level of care. ---More...

Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Against Virginia Abortions Up to Birth Amendment

A Campbell County Circuit Court judge has dismissed a lawsuit seeking to keep a radical constitutional amendment that would establish a “fundamental right to reproductive freedom” — widely viewed by pro-life advocates as authorizing abortions up to birth — off Virginia’s November ballot.

Judge John Cook ruled against Bedford County Board of Supervisors District 3 member Charla Bansley, who challenged House Joint Resolution 1.

Bansley, represented by Liberty Counsel, argued that state officials failed to follow required procedural steps under the Virginia Constitution, including distributing the proposed amendment to all circuit court clerks for public posting and inspection three months before the 2025 House of Delegates election. ---More...

Amendment 6 in Nevada Would Allow Abortions Up to Birth

Nevada voters will decide in November whether to approve Question 6, a proposed constitutional amendment that would create an unlimited right to kill babies in abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy,

That includes on healthy mothers with healthy babies.

The measure would establish that “All individuals shall have a fundamental right to abortion.”

Leading pro-life groups describe the proposal as dangerous, risky and extreme. They argue it would legalize abortions in the seventh, eighth and ninth months and go beyond what was permitted under Roe v. Wade or what most Nevadans support.

Under current Nevada law, abortion is allowed for any reason up to about 24 weeks, or six months. ---More...

Wyoming Abortions Drop 28% as Babies are Saved

Wyoming’s 2025 abortion report was published online by the Wyoming Department of Health (WDOH) in June 2026. The report shows that abortions decreased from the previous year.

The data published by the state does not include the total number of abortions obtained by Wyoming residents out of state or the number of self-managed abortions performed by women outside of the healthcare system.

The report also does not contain the number of mail-order abortions obtained by Wyoming residents prescribed by licensed abortion providers in Wyoming and in other states. In a separate section, the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) will describe data provided by both the Guttmacher Institute’s Monthly Abortion Provision Study (MAPS) and the Society of Family Planning’s (SFP) #WeCount project detailing the number of mail-order abortions obtained by Wyoming residents from in- and out-of-state prescribers. ---More...
