Gestapo and KGB tactics

I'm sorry but the assertion by the senior administration official who defending gathering of all Verizon customers records on the grounds that it is "a critical tool to protect the nation from terrorist threats" doesn't hold water. In fact, it says we are guilty until proven innocent.

I might buy the argument if they could prove that terrorists prefer Verizon. But they didn't. I haven't seen a shred of evidence that says that Verizon users are more dangerous than say ATT, although I expect all phone companies will be next (if they aren't already). If this doesn't hurt Verizon's business, I'll be surprised. As an American citizen, I have the right and expectation that my privacy and liberties will be protected.
