To become a energy minister repeat after me: When we came to power there were brown outs and generators in the streets of Toronto and there is a cost associated with this and the cost we now know is the outrageous contracts to produce wind power – up to 40 cents a kwh for the next 15 years and 80 cents a kwh for solar power for the next 15 years we are still on the hook for.

Auditor general Bonnie Lysyk’s annual report states consumers are paying $9.2 billion more for 20-year wind and solar power contracts signed by the Liberals also Ontarian's have paid $37-billion more than market price for electricity over eight years and will pay another $133-billion extra by 2032. The Ontario Energy Board reports 566,902 homes were in arrears last year and Sixty thousand homes got disconnected also the Liberals spent $1 billion to upgrade the Lambton coal plant to burn clean coal then shortly afterwards they shut it down and signed a contingency support agreement with OPG from 2009 -2010 where $929 million was paid out, this contact ran until 2014 so how many more billions more were wasted? I would also like to note there are roughly 25 OPG workers still employed to run the closed Lambton coal plant. The Thunder Bay Biomass plant runs at less than 2% capacity and employs 72 people at 25x the cost of other biomass station., also the Atikokan Biomass plant which they say is the largest in the world yet it runs at less than 10% capacity and is only scheduled to operate 29 days a year. No one in Ontario should be cut off hydro while Quebec, Manitoba and the Americans are getting our hydro for free or pennies a kwh or the Liberal's give it away to big companies in which a gold mine in northern Ontario received 20 million dollars worth in free hydro in one year. and our rates continue to go up and we continue to get disconnected but it is Mike Harris's fault, Glenn Thibault and premier Wynne say.
