The road we must travel along to make it out of the darkness now covering Earth will always be there, even though it is often hard to find.

Kind words along the way encourage us to weary on.

These two messages arriving among my emails this morning make me take heart:

Worries about what is happening in a world seemingly gone stark mad is keeping many folk awake these lingering, long winter nights

Arlene wrote:

“Judi ~ You and your crew are so awesome - I admire you all so much that I have recommended you to all of my groups - because CFP is not afraid to tell the truth!
"When are Schumer, Pelosi, Cheney, and the Democrats in charge of public safety on that day going to be brought to justice?" That is the question!
“One of the real heroes - who was fired from his job with the Capitol Police because he borrowed a Trump cap to be able to enter the Capitol quickly to do his job - is also telling Tucker what really happened when he went inside. It backs up the video footage.
“That's the beauty of a lie - one begets another until the truth is revealed by facts.”
Nancy wrote: “Thank you so much Canada Free Press and Judi for this most welcome happy, even article Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

I only know Arlene and Nancy as longtime CFP readers and commenters.

Both their messages make me take heart in dark days, making them all the more meaningful to read.

Worries about what is happening in a world seemingly gone stark mad is keeping many folk awake these lingering, long winter nights.

The modern day Internet, which can be such a depressing place, sends them out on the search for morale boosters.

Starry nights find me out on my back deck overlooking the majestic Atlantic Ocean, thanking the Almighty for his Angels, Saints and Stars.

It is so much more than the refreshing deep breaths of the salt air and seeing the Angel lanterns lighting the night sky that sends me back inside feeling ever more hopeful.

Watching the sun go down over the open ocean

Blessed to be only a few minutes drive away from Lobster Bay, Brian and I sometimes go there to watch the sun go down over the open ocean. We watch in delight while listening on our iPad to the late great Fats Domino singing,’Red Sails in the Sunset’.

Today, an unexpected morale booster found its way into my heart. At Christmas, I had discovered a video with singer Englebert Humperdinck sending Heavenwards a song he had written to his beloved wife, Patricia, who called him “Enge”. Looking for more information about Patricia, I discovered that Enge and his family had taken their wife and mother to Lourdes in the hopes of finding a cure from Alzheimer's disease-. Though she wasn’t cured from the sad disease, that was to later take her life, her voice was returned.

“In 2017, the singer revealed that Patricia had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease for 10 years. She died in Los Angeles on 5 February 2021 after contracting COVID-19. Humperdinck later described how the family had prayed with her and blessed her with water from Lourdes before she "slipped softly away”.(Wikipedia)

“I wrote this next song about 10 years ago, and I never realized how poignant the lyrics would be at this part of my life”, he told his audience during his Christmas concert.(Youtube--39:45 Mark)

“Because I wrote this song for my darling wife, who’s actually now in Heaven and she's looking down on me saying: Okay, Enge, sing that song for me. And I WILL, my darling.”

In other words, the death of his beloved wife, all the travails of COVID, painful as they were didn’t send him scurrying off off to a hole of self-pity, but saw him sending out uplifting messages to the rest of the world—telling folk in music not to be so sad.

Having gone online to watch Enge concerts, I thought I had found them all, until I found the one today.

Intuiting that the great singer was trying to send all those nearing despair a hopeful message, his 2-year-old ‘concert at home’ proved my intuitions to be right.

It was recorded during the so-called COVID-19 ‘pandemic’ with so many of us still held in world-wide government ‘lockdown’.

The first few words in his most popular song ‘Release Me’ can be heard here.

..”Please release me, let me go for I do not want to stay down, locked up anymore.”

We can still find morale boosters—when not even looking for them.

And even as corrupt governments keep sending atrocities our way, God Almighty is still in His Heaven keeping watch over us.

That tells all willing to hear Him that NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, and NO MATTER what the enemy holds in store for us, God is with us and will ALWAYS be with us!
