Tareq Salahi, Michaele Salahi

Guess who came to dinner?

Given the deep-bow-to-American-enemies style of President Barack Obama, it is not even close to likely that Tareq Salahi was a party crasher at the president’s first official state dinner on Friday night.

Salahi is a former board member of The American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP), a 501(c), non profit, non-partisan organization based in Washington, D.C, established in 2003 “to provide an independent voice for Palestinian-Americans and their supporters and to promote peace”. While all references to Salahi have been scrubbed on its homepage, they can still be found on a Google search cache of ATFP’s site. (google-cache112809.jpg) According to the ATFP home page, “Mr. Salahi travels the world as the Team Captain for the United States Polo team and represents both the United States and Palestine on his diplomatic polo tours. Does this sound like your typical Obama White House party crasher to you? With most media attention on Salahi’s wife Michaele, it was Talkingpointsmemo.com that broke the story with details of Mr. Salahi’s background. “For this reason, I have no doubt that our present administration, an administration that is sympathetic to Arab interests including the granting of American civil rights to 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, will refuse to prosecute Salahi and his American wife for breaching White House security,” says former Las Vegas city councillor and internationally syndicated columnist for Rick Porrello’s AmericaMafia.com, Steve Miller. The Secret Service has launched an investigation into the security breach and has not ruled out filing criminal charges against the couple. While Talking Points Memo (TPM) was pointing out the Salahi background, FoxNews was talking about Mrs. Salahi’s resume....”She was a former NFL cheerleader. She once modeled for Victoria’s Secret. She could be seen in top fashion and women’s magazines. And this week, Michaele Salahi made her way with her husband to the most exclusive party in Washington, D.C.--guests at the first state dinner of President’s Obama’s term. “At least that’s the story Salahi was telling. “But her resume as a Virginia socialite is increasingly looking like a fantasy, as news broke Friday that the Salahi’ names were nowhere on the state dinner’s guest list and as the Secret Service scrambled to explain how it allowed party crashers at such a prominent event. “Michaele and Tareq Salahi passed through the same security checkpoints as invited guests--and even met Obama in the receiving line, a White House official told Fox News--but they were never (a) threat to Obama, the Secret Service has said. Photos posted to the 44-year-old Michaele Salahi’s (nee Holt) Facebook page show Salahi, whose press clippings identify her as a former cheerleader for the Washington Redskins, complete with pompoms at a September 2009 Redskins cheerleader “alumni get together.” But the team told FoxNews.com it’s never heard of Salahi and that they have “no records she was a cheerleader for the team”. Ditto for the modeling stints for Victoria’s Secret. The couple, who reportedly auditioned for the Bravo reality TV show “Real Housewives of D.C.” arrived at the White House with a professional camera crew and makeup artist in tow and left before dinner was served. Were Secret Service personnel doing as they were instructed by not scrutinizing persons with Arab names, even if they were not on the guest list? Were they told, “Just let them pass, don’t offend them?” “The privilege given to Mr. Salahi is a frightening example of reverse discrimination,” Miller maintains, “I fully believe that had he and his wife’s last name been American, they would not have been allowed past the White House gates.”
