Senate Impeachment Trial proceedings are set to begin at 1 p.m. today—taking us back to the October 19, 2016 presidential debate—where it really all began.
October 19, 2016 is the night when Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, convinced she had nothing to lose, was licking her lips in anticipation.
Not only were a majority of press and polls guaranteeing her inevitable victory, Hollywood and half a nation—roused up on her behalf by outgoing President Barack Obama—were in her white pantsuit pockets.
Heck, coming into the last debate, she’d even been previously handed the debate questions, courtesy of then CNN political commentator and interim DNC chair Donna Brazile.
Back on Oct. 19, calling what was about to come “political fight night,” CBS News host, Norah O'Donnell, said: “In fact Donald Trump is now down nine points. No presidential candidate has made up a deficit that large, this close to an election.”
Only minutes into the debate, hosted by Fox News’ Chris Wallace, Hillary Clinton can be seen licking her lips in anticipation.

Clinton and surrogates would argue that she was only licking her lips because they were dry, but like Trump, she had only to reach for the nearby glass of water on her podium.
Who knew back then, that Clinton’s tell-tale lip licking would soon hurdle on to the full spittle-flecked rage of a Democrat mainstream and social media blowback?
The calendar, in its routine way, staggered on to November 8, 2016, colliding full-force with a 3 a.m. reality that was never supposed to happen when election results proved “outsider” Donald J. Trump as the winner.
