I Promote Being A 'Community Bodyguard'

One major spin or re-interpretation I have on the bodyguard theme is I don't protect rich people who often look down upon poor ones.

This stance is one-eighty in the opposite direction from where the executive protection industry is squarely aimed.

While I applaud the evolution of the executive protection field, my focus has never been on providing close protection for politicians, celebrities, CEOs, trust fund babies, etc.

Frankly, that stuff leaves me cold.

I protect working class folks I lovingly call, 'everyday VIPs' in defiance of the executive protection industry emphasis on high networth and ultra high networth individuals.

The rich and shameless (no typo) will always have bodyguards and EP agents.

My concern is for regular people, and the rare monied person who isn't a greedy pig, who also have close protection needs which sadly often go unaddressed.

That's why I promote being a 'community bodyguard' (the term popped in my head while at work today), meaning security professionals and capable concerned citizens who protect working class people when the need arises.

I've offered free backup to crime victims, activists, female friends, male buddies and the occasional upper middle class professional who isn't a jerk, for decades. It's the genesis of my safety creation theory. Most folks I've helped.can't afford to hire a security detail.

I just don't think the rich and shameless (again, no typo) are the only ones who deserve close protection. In the world of bodyguards and executive protection agents that's a radical thought-and proudly so.

As a creative private protector, I'm not a traditional security professional.

My 'community bodyguard' concept isn't traditional either and again, proudly so.

I promote the radical notion that working class lives deserve close protection just like high income ones do.
