Welcome to a sneak peak at my worldview regarding crime, which may or may not arrive at conclusions similar to your own.
Let's see:
The left feels my national community is 'safer' with as any un-arrested, un-prosecuted traitors to our well-being as possible. They busily misclassify categories of crime and dismiss citizen complaints to maintain this dangerous delusion.
That means more murderers, rapists, carjackers, armed robbers, burglars, thieves and assaulters freely crossing paths with Black men, women and children whose survival quotient shrinks perilously in their presence.
Cheerleaders for such treason would erroneously declare that the above sentence was the product of a right wing mindset, which simply isn't true.
I'm a self-described 'old school Brother,' meaning I didn't abandon expectations of safety and respect for boundaries that were commonplace in the pre-crack cocaine invasion Black community. I still hold onto those expectations. That past community is worth holding onto, if only within my soul, instead of succumbing to what has largely taken its place.
I always remind cheerleaders for community traitors (criminals) that fewer aforementioned 'murderers, rapists, carjackers, armed robbers, burglars, thieves and assaulters' benefits nearby community members far more than distant conservatives warily avoiding such areas.
While the national community I grew up in was reckoning with gale force challenges to its 'old school' norms and customs, from afros to free love, it still was a stable environment whose stability weathered no less than American apartheid, a world war, a cold war and at least two revolutions, one civil rights and the other Black Power.
I don't coddle community traitors who shoot, rape, rob and steal because they have no excuse to do so. And I in turn, have no excuse not to oppose their betrayal of our basic right to be safe amongst ourselves.
That's not the community I grew up in, though that's the one into which I and others were thrust into as 'Generation Xers' entering adulthood. The grandparents of today's merciless 'YNs' were the first era to wage war on a people whose neighborhoods were once refuges from racial conflict.
As such, I can't coddle today's community traitors. I've opposed such betrayal since the 'dope boy' psychosis took root in the 1980s and 1990s.
I'm an 'old school Brother' who refuses to be enslaved by 'hood' or inner city hellions as dangerous as hooded threats from outside of our areas were in my childhood.
It's rather simple. I, and every other 'community member with sense' as I call us, didn't agree to be hostages, punching bags or human targets for betrayers who frankly aren't fit to shine our shoes.
Incidentally, that's not a so-called 'right-wing' or conservative position.
If anything, it's centered in community safety and dignity independent from any outside political party or ideology.
As it should be.
