Impeachment Trial Not even close to a Western Movie, NewtIt’s not just, as Newt Gingrich points out that the Democrat Trump Impeachment is “like a western movie”, it’s that the entire Democrat—and Republican—world is making the masses subject to a downright tacky ongoing series of Grade-B movies, putting their hatred on full public display. At least, the shoot-‘em-up yahoos of Hollywood Westerns were sometimes entertaining, while a Hollywood-styled Congress in action, is revolting!
‘Go ahead, boys’ is exactly what the Republicans are messaging to the devious Dems “Newt Gingrich slams the Democrats second historic impeachment of former President Donald Trump. Gingrich says it's "like a Western movie where the mob wants to lynch somebody and the judge is sitting there drunk going, 'Go ahead, boys.' This has no resemblance to a real trial.” (Fox News, Feb. 10, 2021) ‘Go ahead, boys’ is exactly what the Republicans are messaging to the devious Dems. Just like the leftist media of the day, Gingrich is giving wide berth to what is really going on—Congress in its obnoxious second impeachment trial is turning life into an overly long Grade-B movie. Trump attorney David Schoen went right to the heart of the matter by highlighting how the House Democrats hired “a large movie company” to put together their impeachment tape to “trick” the American people.
And got away with it by getting by dozing fat-cat Republicans like Gingrich, we might add. In reporting on Gingrich’s “western movie take, Fox News described the two-week long trial as a second “historic” impeachment. “Historic” that is, only by virtue of it never having been tried before! The 2019 Trump impeachment trial flunked, with over-the-top Dem activists like Adam Schiff dispatched to sit permanently in the Dunce’s Chair. But the Democrats and media pretended not to notice, and instead all impeachment actors were called back for an unsolicited Second Act. All actors in this never-ending Hollywood movie , including trial leader Dem Rep. Jamie Raskin, drama queens Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Liz Chaney, et al, fail to impress a watching audience. All could be easily bested by any high school Glee Club. When are these Grade-B actors, who achieved life in public office by pretending to do everything for the working person except be one, going to give up on their cheesy skits and get back to the real work of governing?! As Rep. Jim Jordan points out, this is what Democrat lawmakers achieved for Americans over the last year:
Having scored instant cheap publicity via “Fox News Sean Hannity, Gingrich, now at loose ends since his wife Callista had to give up her appointment as U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See, went on to attack President Donald Trump’s impeachment defense team, yesterday, calling their message “incoherent” and adding he had “no idea” what Trump’s lawyers were doing. Should the Trump defense team have checked in with Callista’s hubby first? As another one of those Fox News contributors, Gingrich can say anything he wants about his former leader Donald Trump:
"I don't think I've ever seen as bad a defense team as the president sent up, and I have no idea what they thought they were doing," Gingrich told "The Faulkner Focus." "There's a good case to be made. I thought they were going to make it. I think it's amazing that they only lost one Republican given the absolute lack of a coherent defense.” (Fox News) “Gingrich said he would have been "beside myself" if it was his own representation. "I'm surprised he didn't fire [Bruce Castor] some time during the afternoon. It was that bad. Bad lawyers can lose good cases. That's the danger here," he said.”
If anyone should know about losing good cases, it should be Newt Gingrich.
“Gingrich wasn't alone in his criticism of Trump's lawyers, particularly Bruce Castor, whose 45-minute opening statement included praise of the Democratic House impeachment managers and was widely panned as directionless and rambling. Fox News reported Trump himself was "beyond angry" with his defense team's performance.” (Fox News) Trump's Senate trial began Tuesday after the House impeached him Jan. 13 on an article of inciting an insurrection against the U.S. Capitol. Democratic House managers showed a video of Trump's speech to supporters on Jan. 6 about the election being stolen by Joe Biden, spliced with harrowing footage of a mob of Trump backers storming the Capitol building the same day. At least seven deaths have been linked to the riot.

Instead of trying to save America, Gingrich is blaming Trump on Fox

“Trump's acquittal appears likely, however, as 44 of 50 Senate Republicans voted Tuesday that the trial itself was unconstitutional. Democrats need at least 17 GOP votes to convict Trump and bar him from holding future office. (Fox News) “Six Republicans joined all 50 Democrats in affirming its constitutionality, among them Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., who voted to dismiss the impeachment charges just two weeks ago. “Gingrich said the Democrats were the "party of Hollywood" and did an effective job in their video presentation, but he said they were trying to shift the focus from the abhorrent behavior of the rioters and pin it unfairly on Trump. "The fact is that to say to [74.2 million] Americans we're going to dictate to you who you are allowed to vote for is just not sustainable," Gingrich said. "But on the other hand the Democrats are trying to scar up Trump to weaken him .... Trump's greatest ally is Joe Biden, and every time Biden does something that is destructive, it further reminds the Trump voters why it's unacceptable to allow the Washington politicians to dictate to the rest of us.”
Like most other yackety-yack Republicans, Gingrich is just talking about—but taking no action— about where the Democrats are taking his country—into a bleak world of communist rule. Instead of trying to save America, Gingrich is blaming Trump on Fox for sending the wrong lawyers to defend him against impeachment. In other words, blaming Trump for everything. Isn’t that what the Democrats do? For a stable America, wish Newt would jump astride a horse and ride off into the Western sunset.
