Bill O’Reilly spent some time attacking talk radio last week, for being the catalyst for John Boehner to whiff on amnesty.

“My pinhead of the week is the Speaker of the House, John Boehner….(video clip)..Now he’s a pinhead because I believe John Boehner is secretly a Democrat. He’s a quisling. Because he never says what he needs to say, which is, ‘Here’s our immigration plan, this is what we would like to do, this is what we think is best for the country.’ It’s always the party of no. See, people hearing this who aren’t Republicans, who aren’t conservative, they’re gonna go, ‘They don’t wanna do anything, they don’t wanna do anything, they don’t wanna do anything.’ So you’re just handing a big gift to the Democratic Party. Get out there and say, ‘This is what’s fair, this is what we’d like to do, we understand there are 12 million human beings out there that we have to deal with in this country, one way or the other, alright, and here’s how we’d like to handle it.’ But NOOOOOOO. (Gretchen: ‘But, there’s a reason he’s not doing that, because there’s a rift in the Republican Party.’) Bill: He’s not doing that because he’s pandering to talk radio.”
There is an annoyance factor to O’Reilly’s continuous smears, but one of the things that is not correct is that people listen to talk radio and get their marching orders and then go do whatever the host tells them to. As if they are merely robots. More...
