Islamist extremist plot to take over Birmingham schools exposed

Birmingham, England-A plot, being dubbed as Operation Trojan, to take over as many as twelve schools in ethnically diverse Birmingham, has been exposed along with evidence of intimidation against non-conforming teachers and the character assassination of holdouts. Proponents advanced the terrorist Anwar Al Awlaki at school assemblies; a leading Al Qaeda recruiter who was assassinated by the Americans in a 2011 drone strike.

The twelve schools in question were apparently targeted by Islamic fundamentalists in a plot dating back two decades. Tactics included pressuring non-Muslim female teachers to wear a head covering. Leaked materials from what is now a police investigation show a letter to a co-conspirator where a fanatic brags about enlisting four radical parents to help oust a school Headmistress (Principal) in 1993. According to The Independent “documents leaked to the Birmingham Mail describe the campaign, dubbed Operation Trojan, outlining a step-by-step guide on how to infiltrate school staff with hardline Muslim supporters who can push through plans to transfer the schools into academies, meaning they will not be subject to local authority rules and can be run independently - with the ultimate aim of imposing fundamental Islamic values.” British schools that are categorized as academies function in a similar way to American charter schools meaning they are state funded but with much more control at the school level. Additionally, UK schools have a requirement to teach Religious Education (RE) and Islamists see this as a door to bring forth teachings on Sharia. Schools have often abdicated the RE teaching to outside groups like para-church organizations. Ministries such as Youth for Christ UK have been particularly effective at bringing in the Christian message with schools often preferring the ‘assembly’ period – where the whole school gathers together - for such events.

But whereas as Youth for Christ and others seek to partner with schools and have no part in any other part of the curriculum, Islamist extremists in Britain are seeking to infiltrate not only RE segments but all aspects of the school. For example at Brinsworth Manor Infant and Junior Schools (ages 5-11) in Rotherham , some 50 miles north-east of Birmingham, pork products have been banned for fear of causing offense and replaced by halal meats - despite only 20 percent of the school's population being Muslim. Luton, in the London commuter belt, had a similar battle in its schools last year. The ousted headmistress in Birmingham, as yet unnamed, was a moderate Muslim who believes she was not radical enough for the Trojan group. She said: “I was the victim of a pernicious, well-orchestrated smear campaign I have never been able to recover from. People need to know this is a dangerous, well-organised and sinister group who have the capacity to destroy. They are producing fear in society and playing on paranoia. They are extremely powerful. I was involved in a campaign so nasty that, since I lost the headship, I’ve never been able to raise my head above the parapet. I was shocked to read this letter after 20 years and I am genuinely scared by it.” The woman now aged 69 was ousted from her position in 1994 after being confronted with a number of allegations, including one of financial mismanagement. Her dismissal followed despite her lone cries protesting her innocence. The letter advises that Salafi parents and staff with hardline Islamic views – should be identified within the community. “They are always the most committed to the faith and are hardliners in that regard and once charged up they keep going for longer. When the parents have been identified, we start to turn them against the head teacher and leadership team. If you can get them to be very vocal in the playground as they drop off or pick up their children that will stir up other parents. The parents MUST be given direction and told not to discuss this with anyone. You only need a maximum of four parents to disrupt the whole school, to send in complaints to question their child’s education and to contact their MP and local authority.” Chillingly these kinds of tactics are the same ones employed by liberals and union organizers in the United States. Manipulation is used to pressure others to join the cause with ‘consequences’ for those who don’t and character assassination for the few who actively expose the true agenda. The leaked document discusses extending the ‘jihad’ operation to Bradford and Manchester – cities with fast growing Muslim populations. Indeed Bradford has long been home to large South Asian communities while neighboring city Leeds, which forms a joint metro with Bradford, was home to three of the four 7/7 bombers. Birmingham Selly Oak MP Steve McCabe told the Independent: “This is not the first time this has happened. The difference here is the suggestion in the paper, and I know no different, that this is some sort of concerted organisation and strategy paper. I know heads that have been suspended or driven out because of the enormous pressure they are put under by certain groups or cliques trying to usurp them”. Britain must come to terms with the fact that it is under assault from Islam and Americans should take note of the methods because they are next. It will take strong and courageous governmental leadership to oppose the deep roots that have been grown. None of the current leadership in the British government is capable of doing this. And the opposition lefties are more concerned with using this as an opportunity to impose more governmental control – which in turn plays right into the Islamists hands. The survival of Britain as a culturally Christian nation over the next generation will depend on its people recognizing the situation and demanding that its leaders understand the same and will act for preservation of the nation. What they will do remains to be seen.
