It might be easier to believe some news stories if the hypocrisy wasn’t so blatant. Have you seen pictures of Al Gore’s 9 million dollar mansion which is reported to use nearly $3,000 worth of energy a month? Kind of hard to listen to him tell us to reduce our carbon footprint. Or how about Bernie Sanders showing up at an anti-gun event while being escorted by armed guards?

.

What do you think about the New York Time’s columnist ringing the Climate Change alarm again while taking an around the world tour on a private jet? It is estimated that private jets have a carbon footprint 10 times the size of a commercial jet.

There are other, more subtle examples, like politicians making decisions on public school issues who send their kids to private schools. Or legislators who decide our healthcare options while they themselves have premium coverage. Or the people who begrudge us a tax deduction when they haven’t lived on a middle or lower class income. Or, one of my favorites, people who write laws and then advocate for not following them.

Regular Americans still return found money, hold the door for others, support charitable causes, volunteer at Little League and church and know their neighbours. All of this while besieged by hackers, scammers, con men and criminals which our “we are here to help” government apparently has no control over.

These are the reasons Americans are fed up and distrustful. We need honor, decency and truth back in our lives.
