Obama continues to betray our country and act as a dictator. Then he gets rewarded with Hawaii vacations paid by We the People, the taxpayers. And what is Congress doing about it? Talk, talk, talk and cheap promises,
Obama has forced on the American people a health care system no one wanted. He has been involved in so many scandals that we can no longer count them. It seems to be about once a week, probably to make us forget the previous one. Surely this is what the media does. Fast & Furious, IRS, NSA, Benghazi, Veteran hospitals, crony capitalism, creating divisions and riots, demonizing the police, releasing terrorists in exchange for deserters or communist sympathizers, lifting the embargo with Cuba despite the Helms-Burton Act, which clearly prohibits lifting the embargo until reparations are made for stolen American property by the Cuban government (value today at $7 billion). President Obama continues to do business with the terrorists, tyrants and criminals of this world while ignoring--and even damaging our relations-- with friendly countries like Israel.
In 2015, Obama plans for us two major disasters: Opening the border even more to all kinds of people (including terrorists and criminals), legalizing those who broke our laws upon entering our country illegally and probably, soon after, making them citizens so they can vote for the DemocRATS. The second one is more regulation under the pretense of global warming or as the greenies now call it, Climate Change, a phony scam that has already been discredited.
But worst of all, all Democrats have been supporting Obama’s unconstitutional usurpation of power and some Republicans either support him also or just ignore what he does to our country. What will our GOP leadership do in 2015 both in the House and in the Senate? I’m afraid Boehner and McConnell are too old and rigid to change their ways. They still think that it is business as usual. They want to be gentlemen in dealing with a traitor!
What can we do? We are blessed in Florida Dist. 6 with an excellent conservative Republican as our Congressman, Ron DeSantis. Every conservative organization rates him 95% and above for his voting record. In 2015 he will become Chairman of Subcommittee for National Security in the Oversight Committee and Vice-Chairman for Constitution and Civil Justice in the Judiciary Committee. What can he possibly do to change what’s happening?
I will ask Congressman DeSantis to meet with his fellow conservatives in Congress and resolve as a group to educate fellow congressmen who might be on the border and urge them to come down on their side, the side of the American people. Then FIRE BOEHNER AND MCCONNELL and elect conservative leaders who understand our situation and can play offense instead of defense, who really love America, and who will have the tenacity to stick to our Constitution and principles, like using the power of the purse. LET OBAMA USE HIS PEN TO VETO POPULAR BILLS. Bury him with approved legislation, rattle him, stand up to the news media and start shouting the facts. Say loud and clear: Obama is taking down our country using the failed policies of socialists/communist countries. We are a Democratic Republic and we will act as such!
Elvira Fernandez Hasty was born in La Habana, Cuba, to immigrants from Spain. She attended a private Catholic school for women, French Dominicans School, until the age of fifteen. At that time, the Castro regime militia invaded her home one night in order to question her 20 year old sister, Rose, about her involvement in “counter-revolution” at the University. After some months of anguish, my father arranged for Rose to obtain diplomatic protection from the country of Honduras, and the decision was also made to send me away before confiscation of private schools by the communist government. My sister flew to Honduras under the protection of the Ambassador on January 24, 1961, while I left the country for Florida the next day via the Pedro Pan organization that was formed to protect Cuban children from Marxist indoctrination.
After finishing high school in Florida and working at an electric company billing department, Elvira continued her studies at St. Mary College in Kansas. She graduated cum laude with a BS in Chemistry and later received her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana, IL. Dr. Hasty spent twenty years in college teaching and research, becoming Associate Professor of Chemistry and Chairperson at Mundelein College in Chicago.
In 1997, Elvira and her husband James, moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, where she currently resides. She has been politically active since then, first in the Republican Party and lately in her own conservative organization, Ponte Vedra Conservative Women, a group of conservative women concerned about the future of our country. We are united by our common desire to preserve our Constitution, the principles of our Founding Fathers, and our Judeo/Christian values.
