Joe Biden the Same Kind of Catholic as Pope FrancisDemocrat presidential candidate Joe Biden is the same kind of Catholic as the errant Pope Francis, meaning not much of a Catholic at all. Any politician, masquerading as Catholic—including the one called Francis—about whom the documentary ‘Francesco’ has been released—can profess themselves Catholic, but that doesn’t mean that they truly are. This time last year, former Vice President Biden was denied Communion at a Catholic church in South Carolina over his support for abortion rights.

Holy Communion signifies we are one with God

No worries about being denied Communion this year, as most Catholic churches are still shuttered due to Covid-19. Campaign-busy Biden would have no time to register, which is the only way anyone can get into a church these days. “Father Robert Morey, the pastor at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Florence, told the Florence Morning News that he had denied Biden communion because "any public figure who advocates for abortion places himself or herself outside of Church teaching.” (Washington Times, Oct. 28, 2019)
"Holy Communion signifies we are one with God, each other and the Church. Our actions should reflect that," Morey said in an email to the newspaper. He said that "as a priest, it is my responsibility to minister to those souls entrusted to my care, and I must do so even in the most difficult situations. I will keep Mr. Biden in my prayers.”
“In a documentary that premiered Wednesday in Rome, Pope Francis called for the passage of civil union laws for same-sex couples, departing from the position of the Vatican’s doctrinal office and the pope’s predecessors on the issue. (Catholic News Agency, Oct. 21, 2020)
“The remarks came amid a portion of the documentary that reflected on pastoral care for those who identify as LGBT.  “Homosexuals have a right to be a part of the family. They’re children of God and have a right to a family. Nobody should be thrown out, or be made miserable because of it,” Pope Francis said in the film, of his approach to pastoral care.

“After those remarks, and in comments likely to spark controversy among Catholics, Pope Francis weighed in directly on the issue of civil unions for same-sex couples. “What we have to create is a civil union law. That way they are legally covered,” the pope said. “I stood up for that.” “The remarks come in “Francesco,” a documentary on the life and ministry of Pope Francis which premiered Oct. 21 as part of the Rome Film Festival, and is set to make its North American premiere on Sunday.” “The film chronicles the approach of Pope Francis to pressing social issues, and to pastoral ministry among those who live, in the words of the pontiff, “on the existential peripheries.”
This corner can’t be the only one wondering why The North American premiere of ‘Francesco’ will showcase on Sunday—nine days out from the presidential election. If the Pontiff wants to signal his virtue on LGBT society, couldn’t he have done so after the Nov. 3 Election?

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments"

Today anybody can get away with calling themselves Catholic even when openly and flagrantly misrepresenting and totally ignoring the real Holy Father’s rules, the one and only real Holy Father being Holy God Almighty. There is no getting around the fact that Christ, founder of the Catholic Church, is against the taking of human life which is what babies in the womb are; no getting around anything Christ said by bending the rules: “If you love me, you will keep my commandments" (John 14:15). Biden has, in effect, thrown away the precepts of his Catholic faith, in the same way he has tossed off longstanding American values during his current campaign for the U.S. presidency. Trotting out lines like he’s doing it to protect women’s rights is a political crock. Haunting mental pictures of babes in the womb, moving away from the instruments of abortion—which is what they do—should follow self-professed Catholic Joe Biden the rest of his days. Yesterday, just 12 days before the Nov. 3 Election, Jorge Bergoglio, the man they call the Pope, made it easier for Joe Biden to claim he’s a Catholic in good standing, even though he believes in same sex marriage— in a kind of 11th-hour election boost. Joe Biden’s a ‘Pretend Catholic’ just as he would be a 'Pretend, America-loving President’ if elected. In these darkest of days, God’s Angels and Saints must be weeping.
