Fellow Americans: Today we honor those who sacrificed their lives on our behalf so that we could experience the American way of life. Watch President Reagan's tribute to those who gave their lives so that we could be "Americans." ... "We Are Americans"

Also, watch this video as President Reagan commemorated those Americans who willingly sacrificed their lives for their country, during the Memorial Day ceremonies held at the Arlington National Cemetery, May 31,, 1982 (See Below) This year at the Los Angeles National Cemetery, there will be no American Flags, no Boy or Girl Scouts kneeling at every gravesite and standing to salute them “We can’t have a public celebration on Monday, either,” says Thomas Ruck, director of the national cemetery. “The National Cemetery Administration says we must follow the guidelines of the city we’re in, and Los Angeles has no gatherings of more than six people.” Let us never forget that each and every man and woman who wears the Uniform of the United States Military pledges his or life to defend the U.S. Constitution, that guarantees our First Amendment Right -- "The right of the people peaceably to assemble.”

More than one million brave men and women gave their lives so that we could be a Free Nation, and now a local government says we cannot gather to honor them. Yesterday, the Old Veterans Guard held our 635th consecutive, peaceful Sunday gathering to "Save Our Veterans Land" and to "Bring Our Homeless Veterans HOME." Today, the Old Veterans Guard will peacefully assemble to pay tribute to all the men and women who sacrificed their lives defending our Nation's Colors for nearly two and a half centuries as we will have our own American Flag ceremony in their behalf. Show up today and bring your Family, Friends and American Flags. (See attachment). We will also pay tribute and honor "Veterans Pride Row" for the war-injured and homeless Veterans living "outside" the VA in their new walk-in Tents and Cots while the Los Angeles VA occupies a shameful and disgraceful "internment camp" -- "inside" -- the VA for homeless Veterans with pitiful crawl-in pup tents that is overseen by 24-hour security and VA police, even though we offered the big 14x10 walk-in Tents and were rejected. Never forget: "We honor our dead Veterans by taking care of our living Veterans."
