There are a lot of things regarding the Keith Lamont Scott shooting in Charlotte, NC remain in question. That is exactly why the American press should back off releasing videos, interviewing people who are not objective, and covering the resulting riots. The press has the ability to fuel or douse such fires. Inevitably, they chose adding fuel. This is but one of hundreds of shootings that happen everyday. Watch the news and you will understand the police, especially in urban areas, being on edge When they are approaching someone who has a criminal record and is not responding to commands, they will likely have weapons drawn. We have a much bigger problem here, it is a problem of distrust, of fomenting unrest, and of things being tried in the media. We need to acknowledge the black perceptions, we need to address the communities of unrest and anger, we need to withhold videos and other investigation results until they have reach a conclusion that involved all the parties. And we need to investigate such issues as exactly who are the rioters? Are they all Charlotte area residents? Was mental health really an issue? If so, what help was available and what was accessed. If Mr. Scott was in a car waiting for his son, why was his wife outside the car, talking to police and yelling? There is a deeper story here that is ignored, so nothing will be accomplished.
