Keith Olbermann declares victory over Trump, retires from ranting about politics in GQ's basement closet

In case you missed it, and you probably did, former sportscaster/news anchor Keith Olbermann was the self-appointed leader of "The Resistance." Last November, he bravely offered to lead the left-wing troops into battle against the then newly-elected President Trump. Since then, he's been directing his forces via a series of vulgar, foamy-mouthed rants, made in what we assume is a small sound-proof closet in the basement of GQ Magazine headquarters.

His missives have been ...memorable, if not particularly coherent, and probably hit their high water mark when he was forced to apologize for calling Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos a "motherf***ker." If you've enjoyed these bizarre outbursts as much as I have, today is a sad day. Keith Olbermann's "Resistance" has emerged victorious. Donald Trump has been vanquished. As a result, a certain delusional crackpot has decided it's time to lay down his burdens and embrace the postwar life. Having slain his personal dragon, Keith Olbermann is "Retiring from political commentary in all media venues." If you're thinking that Olbermann was fired, or is going to be named in the next groper scandal, you can relax. He assures us that he faces no such embarrassment this time. It's just due to the aforementioned victory over Trump.
