Lacking Solomon’s Wisdom, Obama Divides The Baby

Barack Obama, with cackling Democrats in tow, has begun escalating his reckless attacks on the ideals and institutions that this nation was founded upon; ideals and institutions that, notwithstanding Pearl Harbor, have thus far kept us safe from all but a single foreign attack.

He says he loves this country as much as anyone and wants what's best for it. I say "Rubbish." Obama despises this country and is doing everything in his power to destroy it so he can remake it in his Utopian socialist image. Through his indecision and Carteresque capitulation, he's placing the entire nation in grave danger. Like the Biblical mother who illegitimately lay claim to a child not hers, the Democrat Party seeks to wrest from our control, those military and intelligence tools that have proven effective time and time again; tools that allow us to maintain the technological and psychological edge over our enemies. And, seeing himself as a modern-day King Solomon, unable to distinguish mother from impostor, yet lacking Solomon's wisdom or restraint, Obama isn't bluffing. He has drawn his sword and stands poised to divide the country along ideological lines. Although his administration crowed publicly over Obama's allegedly decisive action in his first international crisis, to those of us with knowledge of the operational details behind of these types of things, the reality is very different. There are conflicting reports about bureaucratic meddling, with some Pentagon sources claiming that SEALS were operating under restrictive Rules of Engagement that prevented them from using deadly force and other sources close to the President claiming the opposite. Based on my knowledge of Naval Special Warfare Operators and operations, and having examined both claims, it does appear that the SEALs were indeed hampered by bureaucratic hand-wringing. The Washington Times quote of an anonymous military official regarding requests "going back down the chain" and of the first SEAL team providing an "emergency capability" are laughable nonsense. Orders go down the chain, requests go up. An emergency capability meant just that... Only in an emergency. " The guidance was: 'We would like a peaceful resolution... However...'" is practically an admission by this anonymous official that those on scene were indeed restricted from using deadly force. National Security Advisor James Jones said only that Obama dispatched two SEAL teams and that the Pentagon requested the second SEAL team. Nothing more. What is telling about Jones' comments is 1). That a White House National Security Advisor commented on a non-national security matter at all; and 2). That neither the CO of the USS Bainbridge nor SEAL team, nor their on-scene commander requested additional manpower or weapons, adding further weight to claims of Pentagon micro-management that likely delayed Phillips' rescue. Navy SEALs are the consummate professionals. They take missed opportunities to save the lives of Americans very personally. The Obama Administration was scared, because a French rescue attempt that occurred the same day of the Maersk Alabama attack ended with dead hostages. They mistakenly view piracy as a matter for law enforcement and wanted a bigger show of force, so they ordered the first SEAL team to wait for the second. What if, facing the might of the US Navy, these pirates had simply decided there was no way out? What if they decided to (God forbid) kill Phillips and shot him without hesitation at some point during the escalation? Barack Obama's standing orders to intervene only if Phillips life was threatened would have been worthless and Captain Phillips would be dead. I'm glad he's feeling better, but nothing good will come from Obama's decision to release the so-called "torture memos"; documents which outlined the process of using enhanced interrogation methods like waterboarding, sleep deprivation and stress positions used against high-value detainees. Once again, he had to personally explain to defenders of this nation why he was handcuffing them. And once again, as in his visits to Iraq combat vets, Obama voters were vetted for the cameras so that he could be seen wildly cheered on by the very people he was there attacking. How stupid does he think we are? Obama claims that releasing these documents was a necessary step to close what he calls a "painful chapter in our nation's history." To the contrary, Obama's release of these documents will rip the scab off and open the wound for a good salting by Nancy Pelosi. It will continue to cause liberal teeth-gnashing for years to come. but far worse, it will do absolutely nothing to ensure that our soldiers aren't decapitated with a rusty pocketknife, if captured by terrorists who play by no such rules of decency. As if that weren't a big enough slap in the face to his own country, Obama is now also considering the release of photographs depicting some of these interrogation methods. At some point, thinking Americans must wake up and ask themselves just what the hell is this man up to? Release of this information is an attack on America that borders on treason. It means that these methods have been rendered useless forever. It also means that terrorists will use this information as a recruiting tool and excuse to murder Americans anywhere. It will have a chilling effect on future intelligence collection efforts and the resulting legal battles will literally tear this country apart. If the purpose for releasing this information is to have a national debate over frat house pranks and training techniques that Democrats falsely label torture, then let's have the debate. Release ALL of the documents. And if, as Nancy Pelosi and MoveOn.org want, members of the CIA, military or former administration are charged with any crimes, then, as a nation, we must ensure that the same horrible precedent is adopted so that it applies to Barack Obama upon his exit from the White House, and any members of Congress (Madame Speaker) who may have approved of the use of such tactics, whether they remember doing so or not.
