Largest Federal Union Tells Democrats: Pass the Bill and Reopen the Government

For a lot of Americans outside the DC bubble, you’d be forgiven for not even noticing that the federal government remains in a shutdown state. Essential federal workers have continued on the job without receiving paychecks since October 1, putting a strain on many households. Thousands of others have simply been furloughed for just shy of a month now, not working at their day job or receiving a paycheck.

The nation’s largest federal workers’ union is now breaking ranks and calling on Democrats to end the government shutdown by backing a clean funding bill alongside Republicans. ---More...
