Las Vegas Mob Museum a Public “Embarrassment”

By Casino Online Las Vegas’ Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, otherwise known as the “Mob Museum” is set to open this year. Depicting both the criminal and law enforcement elements of Sin City’s battle with crime over the past seventy years, the museum aims to “provide fresh insights and information, provoke debate and dialogue and reveal the truth”. Backed by Mayor Oscar Goodman, the museum will apparently attract 250,000 visitors a year and according to estimates, will cost $50 million to open.

However, while the project is still in its construction stages, the museum has already succeeded in one of its aims. Since the museum was first announced, citizens and politicians have been debating whether the attraction sends out the right message to both tourists and mobsters. Casino Online spoke to reputable Las Vegas journalist Steve Miller about the project, who didn’t pull any punches when revealing what he thought of it. Miller told us that he’s ashamed of living in a “town” (he refuses to call Vegas a city). “That would take public funds to glamorize the former (and current) clients of a mob lawyer-turned-mayor. The Mob Museum will do nothing to attract new, clean, high tech industry to Las Vegas, and will serve to further embarrass local residents who have long tried to show a better face for our town.” More...
