Liberals Heralding A Sovereign Canada’s Demise on Canada Day 2026?

‘Creepy Canada Day 2026’ is creeping up on us on Wednesday. Sadly, Canada Day 2026 will be the first one in our lives celebrating July 1st at a time when Canada has been brought marching in lock step with a WEF-styled communism by the Mark Carney-led authoritarian Liberal Government.

Gone forever are the days when Canada proudly held fast to its centuries old cherished sovereignty, the one which we all grew up in. Gone are the days when patriotic Canadians would have stepped up to stop an overreaching government that would dare to pillage our old age pensions, blowing citizen money to enrich themselves, while escaping accountability by proroguing Parliament directly after coming into power, and bestowing upon themselves, a 3-month-long summer recess, after passing limited debated bills, C-9 and C-22, killing off free expression of speech and religious rights.

With full legacy media support, including the $1.5 billion a year taxpayer-funded Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, this Canada Day will be celebrated at a time when Canada has slipped into a Recession, that cunning Carney calls only a ”technical” one.

Social Media has been rife with Carney’s clownish capers ever since his coming into power just 14 months ago.

The latest sees his joining a dancing Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow celebrating Pride Day.

Just a brief look back in time shows how Carney has also been a part of the Trudeaumania cult, held firmly in place by the powerful Desmarais group. (addition)

It kicked off under the prime ministership of arrogant buffoonish Pierre Elliott Trudeau with his cross-Canada so-called ‘Opportunities for Youth’ program back in 1971.

As a young, still wet-behind-the-ears, rookie reporter back then, I remember hearing about an acquaintance rallying folk to help him drain gallons of unopened beer into the same ground from which it was served for months. When the Trudeau Government ended Opportunities for Youth in 1976, they ordered all of their paid allies to destroy, beer, hotdogs, and all other government largesse on the same day, where folk had lined up for free Liberal goodies for months on end.

Back in the day, PET was best known for the expression “Fuddle-Duddle”, his way of hiding his use of the F-Bomb. His most widely known photo? Him performing a pirouette mocking Queen Elizabeth II.

Always replete with mainstream media reported jokes and oozing charm, he announced the birth of his son Justin who was to be elected prime minister decades later as, “Just In Time”.

Trudeau senior dated celebrities like Barbra Streisand, Margot Kidder and Liona Boyd.

Trudeau Junior, who eased Carney in as his replacement, in the midst of Liberal scandals, is dating celebrity Katy Perry, the same Katy Perry who--in part--caused the death by heart attack of Sister Catherine Rose Holzman, 89, when she forced herself on a takeover of the convent Sister Rose Holzman fought so hard to keep.

The term “like father, like son”, has never been more meaningful than when it relates to the Trudeaus.

How far Canada has fallen so far from the country we grew up in can be seen in the sad true story of ‘Hockey Night’ in Canada.

Beginning with radio in 1931 and then transitioning to television in 1952, ‘Hockey Night in Canada’ has been in our homes for some 95 years, until June of 2026.

Part of the mystique of ‘Hockey Night in Canada’ was the popular segment called ‘Coach’s Corner’ with Don Cherry for 33 years.

It can be said that ‘Brutus’ Ron MacLean threw more than Cherry under the bus when he turned on him over his comments in 2019 that immigrants and newcomers to Canada do not purchase or wear poppies to honor fallen soldiers for Remembrance Day.

Meantime, the Liberals have turned deaf ears to citizens who want to honor Don Cherry with the Order of Canada.

The Two Canadian Heroes I’ll be thinking about on Canada Day 2026--Don Cherry and Paul Anka:

On what I call ‘creepy Canada Day 2026’, I won’t be thinking of PM Mark Carney and his ‘Band of Merry Liberals’, now leading Canada on a march toward WEF-styled Communism, but of two unsung Canadian heroes, ‘Mr. Hockey Night in Canada’, 92-year-old Don Cherry and Canadian Living Legend, 84-year-old singer, songwriter Paul Anka.

This is from an email I sent to longtime Canada Free Press reader ‘Jimmy’, who himself is a former Junior B hockey hero.

“Jimmy, just had to relate a funny true story about CFP and the wonderful Don Cherry. The late Jim Brown, an MPP and huge hockey fan, had an appointment with Cherry to ask him to write a regular column for CFP, (then a print journal called Toronto Free Press, forerunner to Canada Free Press), which had to be cancelled. Because Jim couldn’t make it due to car troubles on the day of his scheduled appointment, he begged me to attend the meeting in his place.

"The appointment coincided with the opening day of Cherry’s new downtown Toronto restaurant. You can imagine how nervous I was, not knowing all that much about hockey.

"Don and Rose, his dear and much beloved wife at the time, heard me out about how we would like to have Don as a regular TFP sports columnist.

“Are you even aware that I turned down all newspapers, including the Toronto Star”, he asked. I told him no, and that I was only trying to honour his close friend Jim Brown by keeping the appointment, then sadly gathered up my papers and briefcase to leave with as much dignity as I could muster.

"Rose, first turning to Don, asked me to sit back down and then said to him. “Don, I want you to accept this girl’s offer. I know deep down that you are worried about spelling and grammar but I promise to help you with that.”

"It was well known by many how much Don Cherry loved his late wife.

"Their restaurant was on a hill, and their table the closest one to the street. When I went outside, I stopped and did a little happy jig, thinking how delighted Jim Brown would be that I, a hockey neophyte, had successfully closed the deal.

"As I was doing my little jig, I saw through the window both Don and Rose, who could clearly see me, blowing kisses my way!”

Don Cherry loved kids, and I will never forget how he stopped off at our then downtown Toronto offices for a bundle of papers from our most recent press run, which he took to Maple Leaf Gardens and autographed for teenagers after that night’s hockey game.

Jimmy encouraged me to write this article, in the hopes that someone close to Don would forward it to him.

I may have lost touch with Don over the passing years, but will never forget him.

Don, I’ll be thinking fondly of you on this year’s Canada Day. Communism fails wherever it is tried while warm memories of heroes like you last forever.

The other Canadian hero I’ll be thinking of on Canada Day 2026, is living legend, 84-year-old singer, songwriter Paul Anka

Canadian-American singer Paul Anka highlighted how Canada has seen a surge in crime amid mass migration.(Post Millennial, May 27, 2026)

“During an appearance on Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, Anka discussed how Canada has moved away from being a homogenous nation and the consequences that this decision has had.”

As far as is known, Paul Anka is the only Canadian-born celebrity to speak up about the Communist trend Canada is being led on by its WEF-controlled Canadian government, in an era where it takes both commitment and courage to do so.

"We’re not a homogenous nation here. You look at homogenous nations, Asian, wherever, different cultures, we’re not homogenous. That’s part of what we have to deal with. But that’s the greatness of America,” Anka said during the conversation.

“Anka added that Canada has historically been homogenous, but “Only now are they feeling it,” noting that, “a city like Toronto, there’s over 400,000 immigrants, and their crime rate has gone through the roof.”

Many of us grew up hearing this singer’s iconic song, ‘Diana’.

Anka also wrote the theme for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson; one of Tom Jones' biggest hits, "She's a Lady"; and the English lyrics to Claude François and Jacques Revaux's music for Frank Sinatra's signature song "My Way". (Wikipedia)

Canada Free Press has a slight and distant connection to Anka, since its Brian Thompson attended an Ottawa school with Anka’s likeable two daughters.

To us, Paul Anka is a genuine national treasure we’ll be thinking about on Canada Day 2026.

Thank You wholeheartedly Paul Anka for speaking about the evil of communism at a time when it is most needed.

There is nothing for Canadians to celebrate on Canada Day 2026, other than celebrating our government overlooked unsung heroes, and the many unheralded Canadian citizens who love American and its citizens, knowing full well that it wasn’t President Donald J. Trump, but 11 straight years of Liberal rule that brought Canada into economic disaster.

On Canada Day 2026, I’ll be singing Anka’s ‘My Way’, believing that our National Anthem could easily be changed from ‘O Canada’ to ‘Woe Canada’.
